I’m 29 and I care a lot less about it than I did even a year ago. I started doing self-care things—I have a fancy skincare routine, for instance—and I really am trying to love myself as much as I love other people.

I can’t get over how terribly fat people are portrayed in most media. It’s very similar to the problems with the representation of women and POC in movies. I hope there are many more movies like Dumplin’ to come.

I’m really self-conscious (I don’t believe lovers who compliment my body) but I’ve never apologized for any part of my body. I *can* see it happening because sometimes you say dumb shit when you’re feeling awkward, but it’s really much more sad than sexy.

Thank you for the actual carrier advice. As a relative of two postal workers who have regularly worked 12 hour days, worked with the stomach flu, gotten stuck in ditches, etc. I really am annoyed by a lot of these commenters saying, “Keep complaining!”

Late to the party, but citalopram basically saved my life. I hope you find a treatment or treatments that similarly help you—if a drug or therapist isn’t working don’t be afraid to try another! I’m rooting for you!
