This look makes me homesick :) as a former Texan, all I can say is that big hair would totally finish it off, but you look lovely!!

I had a family member that briefly worked for a cemetery. In sales. If I'm paying that much for a plot, you damn well better guarantee that I'm staying put there forever :P
My husband introduced me to Combos! I went through a phase where I was nuts for those things :)
Ahhh, I'll bet they were good - isn't breastmilk fattier? Anyway, I don't think I'd have the balls to do that, but that's awesome!
Well, to be fair to, uh, myself, I did know something was off with them. They tasted bad, but I didn't want to say anything because A) I trusted that he wasn't trying to sneak anything past me and B) he'd worked hard on dinner and I didn't want to be a bitch.
Literally laughed aloud at this mental image :)
I love cauliflower, so that'd be nice :) I don't mind trying new things - I just don't like being tricked into trying something that I've clearly said I really, really don't like. Making something I do like - say, zucchini - into a muffin and surprising me with it? Totally cool. Putting tomatoes in that muffin and…
Exactly! That's why it's a big no for the kids, especially. I want the kids to trust me and I want them to learn to like a variety of foods without having to have them "hidden" as a treat or something.
Funny you'd bring that up - I don't care for pork, either. I'll eat it - and I have - and I love bacon. But generally speaking, I don't eat pork.
She was an awesome cook and a terrible, abusive, manipulative mother.
One of the "best" ways I have of preparing it is by making noodles, melting real cheese into it, using heavy cream to get it all saucy, butter, tuna... that's how my husband likes it, anyway. The kids like hot dogs, and I don't like meat in my mac n cheese.
It definitely tasted wrong, but it wasn't like totally inedible. I ate it in good spirits, kinda drowning the flavor out with the meat served with the meal because it didn't taste good, but I wasn't sure what it was because I've tried mayo so very rarely that I couldn't identify what the yucky flavor was.
And you shouldn't feel bad because I'm not *that* picky - I know what I do and don't like, and I avoid the stuff I hate as much as I can, but I'm not impossible to reason with and I'll try new things sometimes.
Yeah, forcing food on kids is stressful for everyone involved. Sometimes you have to stand firm - especially if it's something you know they like and they're just playing games... but there's a difference between standing firm and traumatizing your kid! Maybe I've just been lucky with my kids, but I've found that it's…
I just don't understand people that feel the need to force food on others. Especially when they're not really doing anything differently to make it. I mean... I guess you could do something different with a screwdriver, but then it wouldn't be one anymore, would it?
I don't disagree, necessarily, but there have been numerous retellings that did take a different direction - like Ella Enchanted and Ever After. I don't necessarily have a problem with a live action version that sticks closer to the Disney princess fairytale so much of us grew up on. But then again, I also don't…
Haha, agreed!
NOT defending the parents that make that choice (my personal philosophy is to do what my pediatrician says to do - which is to vaccinate on schedule) - but does "better late than never" count in vaccination?
I really, really try. I love my girls and I want them to be good eaters - but most of all I want them to eat well. It's okay if they're picky, as long as they get as much variety as they can tolerate and as long as that means that they're getting the nutrients they need to be healthy.
Asian food is my favorite. Love love love.
