If I am ever the position to be like this gentleman, I want to be this gentleman.

Honestly, I haven't noticed a big difference with or without bay leaves for most recipes. I'm sure it's just because my palate isn't sophisticated enough lol, but I'm not cooking for Gordon Ramsay, so I don't care.

If dropping out and jumping into the workforce has taught me anything, it's that you can work your way to what you want (unless you want to be a doctor or something like that, obviously).

I want to chalk it up to an artist being artsy... but there's just no making this okay. Especially with the blackface thing. I mean, if she was trying to convey a sense of empathy for black men, that's great. But very poor choice of words if that was her point, and her actions don't do her much service, either. If

You're on! And if that happens, I truly wish you the very best and an insane amount of royalties!!

That's cool. I feel differently, but that's probably why I'll never be wealthy haha. It's just a personal thing. I'd rather have something I'm super proud of published and never make a dime off of it, than have something I'm not proud of published and die wealthy.

Exactly - that's why if my kids refuse something, I don't make a big deal of it. I'll try a different preparation and I actually ask them about what they're experiencing when they eat. I can usually figure out if it's a texture or flavor thing by paying attention. Personally, I've never liked milk. Do what you want to

I would be thrilled if something that I wanted to publish was published. If it was my choice, and I was able to make the negotiations and all that.

This! Exactly! It's ridiculous. As a parent, this is a stupid problem to have. I normally wouldn't be too concerned about a situation like yours. Yes, it's preferable that children always be supervised outside. But it's unreasonable to expect that kids need to be chaperoned while outside at all times - especially in a

I'm not touching it. Unless there is irrefutable evidence that Harper Lee is totally down with this, I'm calling it bullshit and I think anyone that buys/reads this is slapping that poor woman in the face. I'd be mortified if something of mine was published in this fashion, and I'd like to be a published author

Agreed- while people are responsible for themselves, ultimately, there's more to it than "try harder!"

From my own observations, the majority of my adult friends that don't like "good" food (veggies, in particular) simply don't know how to prepare them well. I have friends that are vegetarians that can't do anything beyond put a salad together or roast some vegetables in an oven.

I'm Persian, so the Mediterranean grocery stores are my personal fav :)

If you're addressing me, specifically, I'd like to mention again that I do know how to shop and cook smart. We do eat fresh as much as possible. But we can't completely avoid processed foods. Honestly, I don't even buy stuff like chips and ice cream. I do 80% of my shopping in the periphery - the produce section, meat

Very thoughtful answer - thanks! Makes sense, too. I mean, I saw a post showing school lunches and I was just thinking that they look exactly the same as the school lunches I grew up with... over like 10 years ago! It doesn't look like anything has changed, necessarily, so I didn't understand all the vitriol being

American. My mom is Persian. We drink a lot of tea. I agree completely with you. I don't bother ordering tea at restaurants because I will most likely be given a mug of hot water and a fucking Lipton bag.

Anybody that comes in with a FSOG query should be shown the door. Or they should stock Sportsheets cuffs to sell to them to get them out the door.

Full disclosure, I don't get "get" Kanye's music... I don't see it as being particularly special or ingenious or groundbreaking or anything. I don't follow him or his career, except for the occasional article here and I once saw him on a late night talk show.

Serious question - all I've seen online re: her efforts to change school lunches is hate. Pretty extreme hate, too. Is it justified?

So, you're supposed to talk to your babies. It's supposed to be good for development.
