That's a very fair point... but belief systems that affect behavior/decisions are very often tied to religion. Whether or not that's right, it's simply the way things are... honestly, I'm trying to come up with a secular example and I'm having a hard time. The only (weak) examples I can imagine right now are pacifists

I'm not saying that all beliefs are valid reasons to risk one's life... but it's really not my place to tell anyone that, because I disagree with them, they should be forced to undergo procedures that they believe are harmful (spiritually, whatever) to them.

I've been known to order hot chocolate with a shot of espresso at places that can make it.

What, like pacifists being able to cite their beliefs as reason not to send them to war?

My understanding is that religious objections are sometimes considered good reasons- like if it would violate your beliefs. Not like you have to be a Christian to make your own decisions. It's about respecting beliefs, not about Jesus.

Once I've popped out our next and last child (not pregnant yet, but we want one more before we quit with reproducin'), husband is getting a vasectomy. I feel like it's easier (and probably cheaper, long term) to snip him than to remove organs from my body or pump hormones into it.

Why cervix was 8 cm dilated when I showed up at the hospital for "routine monitoring" because I felt like something was up.

I didn't know I was pregnant until I was already 2 months along. The only symptom I had was the missed periods, but my cycle was always super wonky so I didn't think anything of it.

Not when I was desperately hunting for maternity clothes that aren't made for 5'9" women with gigantic asses (no judgement if you've got a big booty - I'm a teeny thing and it was frustrating to try to find clothes that accommodate a pregnant belly when you're not "grown up" sized!). The only pair of maternity jeans

Mine is 2 and will eat everything. Seriously. Recent favorites include chicken curry over saffron rice, roasted broccoli, and beef wrapped asparagus. I am so, so grateful because it means we can go to any restaurant and count on her to behave and eat well.

Hey, you sound just like an ex-coworker of mine (who is and was very cool)!

This. I panicked when I found out I was 2 months pregnant because I'd been having the occasional drink and/or smoke during those first months. Doctor asked about the frequency (drinks? occasionally... smokes? a pack every 1-2 weeks?), just kind of chuckled and was like, "Well, before we knew about the problems drugs

I know a delightful jackass that once convinced his girlfriend that lobsters grew their tails back.

Even working in an office where we have plentiful sick and vacation days, people often still come in when they're sick, all the time. Plus, you can often be contagious when you aren't feeling ill enough to stay home. Even if I assume that you're like a superstar with containing your own germs (and I'm not saying that

Yeah, if you can afford $100 for Tamiflu. *snort*

It's not always about you. If you get the flu and give it to a coworker, who has a 1 year old and a 4 year old, and then she gives it to her kids... the little ones could die.

Wait - so it's a total ban? No exceptions for, like, life-threatening developmental issues? Any baby that makes it to 20 weeks must be born?

So, I wound up following this person on Twitter because I saw her tweets regarding a mutual interest and found them funny. Pretty standard social media stuff.

So, what you're saying is... I can shoot a tiger that Blue Ivy fed in a couple of years?! Oh, wait, I lack the small penis :( and also the urge to murder wild animals for sport.

Has anyone been able to prove that the allegations are true, yet?
