A list of things my mom “doesn’t remember.”

i was just wondering the same thing! in my mom’s case, forgetting the shitty things she has done is just a convenient symptom of her mental illness. that’s why it’s good she has me around, with my memory of an elephant, to remind her when she gets uppity.

hahaha nope

My mom once told me (when I went from a 0/2 to a 4/6) that I had “gained a disturbing amount of weight and people(???) were concerned.” She now denies ever saying this. Interestingly, she is not skinny, and she also decided I had an eating disorder in college (I did), and her solution was to send me boxes of cookies

I’m 30 and my mom says things to me like “oh your acne is clearing up! oh wait no you just caked it with makeup.”

My mom said to Jr. High me, “I know you put on a lot of makeup to try to change your face, but you can’t change your face.”

No but guys! This is important. If my marriage license hadn’t specified “bride” and “groom” how would we have known which is which?

I’ve said this elsewhere (kitchenette) before, but as a server, I always ask “allergy or aversion”. People with celiac look relieved, and people without get upset and defensive. Never fails. Also, when people order a sandwich on GF bread, I always ask them if they would prefer something besides fries, as our fryer is

To be safe for celiac, you have to prove the absence of gluten to 20ppm (parts per million). That means processors have to be very careful and very strict that there’s not even flour in the air.

Now playing

My first response, before even finishing the article:

I can see why someone who doesn’t worry constantly about food availability would find this stuff strange. And a lot of the GF buzz has gotten out of hand. But for those of us who do have Celiac or food allergies (Hi, I have both.) food is not a stress-free thing. The idea of a convention center full of things that are

You have to read the fine print. Some of them won’t have gluten as an ingredient, but may be contaminated with gluten if non-gluten free foods are processed near it. Not a problem if you’re trying to cut gluten out for dietary reasons, but a huge problem if you have celiac disease.

Just wanna mention my project to highlight cool Jezzies for possible elevation from the grays again real quick:

It was between this and either a horse or a cat “I love this post.” I’m so glad I picked right!

My friend group used to collectively feed our friend who never had lunch or money in HS, these fuck faces criticizing people are disgusting.

From the linked article, RE: Lunchables:

Tomato, to-mah-toe.

Good thing you’re here .... to reMIIIIIND them...

Dear America, Just a reminder that if your election lasts for four years, you need to see a doctor.
