I am going to laugh in Spanish: jajajajaja

WTF? Sulu was the navigator. Uhura was on languages!

I really enjoy this story. I had Mexican and Guatemalan teachers for seven years, and then went to Uni and had a teacher from Spain. I was fucking screwed. (Like what even is vosotros?!?! C’mon.)

as a speaker of mongrel mixed mexican and south american spanish with whatever else i picked up along the way, i concur

As a speaker of Mexican Spanish, I might be biased...but I am also pretty sure I’m right.

These ones grow EXTRA big, because mommy’s sauce is so yummy and good.

I’ll name my kid Vaporeon Daenerys Scorponok Bitch-Pudding Smith and there is nothing you can do to stop me.

On the hook = perpetual punishment, forever and ever, apparently.

Wait...How is 47 years in prison not facing the consequences, now?

Right, the protections provided here are not generally needed in good and happy situations/scenarios. It’s about keeping an already hard situation from getting unnecessarily worse.

You know, this makes me wonder- can kids whose parents are anti-vax get vaccines if they want them? What about a kid with ADHD or depression whose parents don’t believe in any kind of psych meds? A child in a Jehovah’s Witness family who doesn’t practice the religion and needs and wants a blood transfusion?

But it doesn’t even sound like she took the damn pill?! FFS contemplating abortion and then having a miscarriage is just something that’s statistically quite probable (with half of all pregnancies in the US unplanned and a good fifth ending in miscarriage).

too real

A bunch of people stand around the Mewtwo stand, frantically battling it.

You’re right, whatever. There is nothing wrong with a bunch of great white hope teachers from ivy league schools teaching at a charter school, calling a group their students fucking idiots, wishing they could hit them, and HOPING they fail....in writing. I wonder if they learned that during one of their Teach For

i’m going to re-post my reply to everyone who think these teachers’ comments are ok:

These are the people who have control over these children’s grades, while blatantly saying “I hope he fails.” That is more than blowing off steam. That is a teacher I wouldn’t trust to educate and fairly grade my child.

no, teachers aren’t saints, and neither are kids. but as a former teacher, i am appalled that you think if it would’ve been ok had i EVER said any of these things aloud, or in writing.

So expressing a desire to physically harm a child under your care and calling them fucking idiots is totes cool?
