I kind of figure I have to develop a little circle that I trust. I’m not sure how you escape that risk. I definitely understand a city home creating more potential for problems. But there are teachers, friends and their parents, relatives...I can’t always be there.

I kind of think they do need outside independence. My daughter goes outside with her 8 year best friend next door (and other neighbourhood kids). I want them to do the things I did as a kid. I want them to know they are okay without me watching. I’m never far away and my neighbourhood is full of (good) police officers

Basically you need to have a big pad/tampon fire every month and say a prayer or something.

I mean, that’s what all their propaganda says, so...

Yes, it’s a funeral for a puddle of blood. My further along one was a little more substantial but still not a baby because development stopped so early, as would be the case with many in-hospital D&Cs.

I might be persuaded if my miscarriage burial options include a proper Viking burial at sea.

Yeah, it’s such a helpless situation. I can teach my kid to stick with a friend, not talk to strangers, find a safe grownup, etc. But then there was this thing that happened at a school in my friend’s town a few weeks ago where some crazy dude just strolled up to some kids and stabbed one of them to death for no

I’m trying to give my 7 year old more independence now and it’s hard. I know the reality is that bears are a bigger threat in my neighbourhood than people, but the possibility is terrifying. I think the biggest downside to being a parent is that in your mind you will forever more replace every kid in every headline

YES.

I can’t STAND Tarek and...her...and their stupid shower tiles. This upsets me for the kids. But maybe this will be the end of their shit tile jobs.

Yup. My girls are 5 and 7. It’s impossible to stop my mind from putting them in her shoes and me in her mother’s.

Seven.

:D

All of them are good except maybe Little Drummer Boy and one version of Blue Christmas. And then there are so many versions of each song!

I love snow, but only in December. If it would just go away after that, our relationship would be much improved.

Tea with egg nog in it! :D

But I’m being totally serious!

Yeah, Vancouver is my NHL team and they are ten hours away. We don’t get down for games very often. Junior hockey is just as fun though!

You take that back.

My tv is over my fireplace. It’s funny to have them going together.
