Kelly still has people defending his rapist ass almost 20 years after Chappelle put him on blast. Louis CK is back doing standup already. Woody Allen still gets to make movies.

I feel like public figures were being held accountable for shitty things they said in the past - that it was originally about consequences - and then the Right spin machine rebranded it as “Cancel Culture” and every celebrity martyr who thought that what they had to say was So Important got on board with railing…

I really hate this whole situation, because I saw this documentary a few months ago (a very small test audience with the filmmakers) and it is so amazing, and I hate that this gorgeous little film, made by some very good people, will now be overshadowed by his stupid ass transphobic comedy.

I love it when black or poc use right wing talking points, dude, you’re going to get fucked when you are surrounded by people who hate you. Have fun.
