Patty Jenkins should be glad she has HBO Max and Covid to scapegoat for the poor box office performance of WW84. That movie was a scattershot mess with a nonsensical plot, it was a definite drop off in quality from her first WW movie.

Anything that forces Hollywood to pay more attention to plot and character, instead of big-screen visual spectacle backed up by cliché-laden lazy writing is a good thing in my book.

One of many reasons I don’t like this movie. This great, charismatic crew is assembled for Han to join...and then we kill off two of them. WHAT. THE. FUCK?

To be honest, A) I don’t believe her for a minute and B) notice that whenever she’s confronted, it’s never “I miscommunicated” or “Oh wow I phrased that poorly!” It’s always “You misheard me.” “You took me out of context.”

Yeah, the whole Bialik thing is a never-ending cycle of her saying something incredibly dumb and dangerous, then offering a half-assed retraction that can still be read as an endorsement of the original position if you stare at it just right. I don’t get why people keep apologizing for her. Just stop it, she’s bad.

I think Bialik’s statements on vaccination and C sections read as disingenuous and carefully worded to allow her plausible deniability on views she somewhat or fully endorses. Granted that is a subjective take, but I don’t see the article as misrepresenting Bialik’s intent as much as seeing through it.

Her statements about vaccinating her children are some weird halfway point between scientific fact (vaccines save lives especially in infants who have underdeveloped immune systems) and Andrew Wakefield’s acolytes, which is a sweet spot if you’re carrying a doctorate and selling supplements.

Sorry, bro, you don’t get to basically say “some people believe in [horrifying eugenicist belief], though I personally do not agree” and act like you’re somehow squeaky clean there. By bringing up the eugenics, you obligate yourself to express some combination of words that amount to “and that’s some fucked up shit”…

If I happened to be a celebrity who kinda wanted to say something as outrageous as “I’m OK with non-natural birth babies dying”, I’d probably just forward on the fact that some people believe it, but I totally don’t!

I saw her recent video about how she isn’t anti-vaccine and it’s still bullshit. She brings up valid points but then also says “Do I want to inject babies with all these chemicals and parts of cows and chickens? No!”

Burton has been a public figure for 40 years. It’s not impossible that he’s done something awful, but at this point do you really think that’s the case?
