Ah, yes, that tired old stereotype of black people being genial but unhinged temporal scientists from the future in colorful robes.

What’s interesting to me is how everybody complains how all these Marvel shows and movies wrap things up too nicely and dodge any real consequences, and here we have a show that did the opposite of that and people are complaining about the lack of closure.

Given the purple robe and gold chest bling, that wasn’t Kang at the citadel at the end of time.

Ironheart

This season was a bit messy because of it being contained six episodes, but I really enjoyed it and this might have been the more satisfying ending of a D+ Marvel show even if it got a little too explain-y.

A lot of people seem to be complaining about his portrayal but I thought he was great. I was riveted as soon as he came on screen.

It was refreshing, for me at least, that the thrust of it was about dealing with an actual moral dilemma rather than the usual third-act CGI wirefight.

FWIW that wasn’t even technically Kang, it was Immortus(splitting hairs I know). The purple cape and the gold circle pattern on his chest kinda gave that away. So the MCU up until this point was basically Immortus’ timey wimey bonsai tree and now it’s in some other variation of Kang’s hands maybe.

I will say that this was the first Disney+ finale that had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode.

I’m just happy Marvel actually followed through on their teasing, and actually gave us Kang (or a version of him) and not another cheeky “LOL, that’s not Quicksilver! It’s just some dude named Boner!” rug pull.

A post credits scene set on Alligator-asguard with Alligathor talking to Alligator-Odin would have been amazing.

I would honestly be okay with a whole show of Alligator Loki

I’m still shaking my head at criticisms of “they didn’t answer everything!”

Low bar to clear and all, but for me this was the best season-ender for the D+ shows thus far. At this point I can attribute the way HHR’s introduction was handled to safety precautions (note the spacing between everybody’s seats).

But I didn’t figure this show could or would have a “definitive” ending given that it

Sylvie had as much romantic intent as Jasmine did when she kissed Jafar.

I was so excited when I saw that. Especially after all those cliffhanger endings. This story certainly felt the least finished out of all show so far.

Loved Jonathan Majors’s manic take on Kang. Loved pretty much everything about this episode.

My only complaint is that it didn’t have a post credits Alligator Loki scene.

They smooched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kevin Fiege went full Comic Nerd. Never thought I’d see the day where not only we get to see Kang in live action, but a producer to have the balls to tackle on his history in the Marvel Universe that can open doors for an infinite number of possibilities.

What a truly incredible six episodes. Hats off to Marvel and D+.
