I was a teacher at a Catholic school for many, many years. When you are hired, you sign a contract agreeing to abide by the teachings of the Catholic Church. You know that you can be fired for acting publicly in a way that brings “scandal” on the church. (Not agreeing; just explaining.)

Well, I’m not sure their rights are technically being violated in cases like this.
