$600 per person, per night for a couple is expensive, but not that crazy. Sounds fun.

+1 on the Cub Cadet. I push the limits of mine mowing an acre dirt jump park and it hasn’t killed me yet.
Around 2012. We had recently motor swapped this one, and I was out tooling around town. When I whipped around a corner, the non-strapped down battery whipped enough for it to start a fire. Luckily right before it got too roasty a couple off duty cops pulled up and had fire extinguishers. So not too much damage at all!
May I suggest another addition to the list? This all natural brush is much better than those grill brushes that get metal all up in your food. That’s nasty. I grill a LOT and was stoked to switch to this.https://grillbadger.com/

Great and terrible.
Y’all who fill up every half tank are crazy. If Jesus wanted you to only use half a tank, he would have only given you half a tank.
Same.
My current fleet is a 93 Miata that had 285K on the clock before I swapped the motor, a 95 Land Cruiser with 275K that just had a motor rebuild and a 08Land Cruiser that is a wee baby, just coming up on 195K. Motor work on previous two was necessitated because I’m not the best with maintenance.
If that’s out of your price range, Hot Wheels is coming out with this:
Agree. To the point that Children’s Health Care called a code white at the hospitals which means employees have to sleep there in order to preserve gas and ensure enough staff is onsite to address patients.
The hackers are winning.
2 that got away:
1) 1988 4Runner with 3.4 swapped motor. This thing was a hoot, as you can see. Was overwhelmed with projects and chose the wrong one to get rid of.
I was driving from Atlanta to NYC towing a camper, going the mountainy route cuz it’s a much prettier route. Stopped off I-81 just off I -77 for the night. Next morning got up early, grabbed a cup of coffee and hit the road. Was so proud of myself for getting up early as it was a beautiful morning and the highways…
82-ish Diesel Chevette. According to Wikipedia it put out a whopping 51hp. It felt slower than that.
When I had my best fleet, I had all these for under $15K.
95 LC $5k, Mog $3500, 4Runner ~$3500, 76 Corona ~$800, Miata $1500
And they all ran at once, maybe even a couple of times!
Have you driven one? They are quite different from the Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia and GX.
Throw pillows. Matching throw pillows.
Toyota. They are just so well built and so reliable I can’t fathom buying anything else. Case in point: 2 years ago instead of buying something new-ish i dropped 25K on a 10 year old Land Cruiser with 150K miles. It’s going to outlast all of us and performs perfectly. I don’t have that trust in any other brand.
Merkur xr4ti
That sounds like a dream trip. I love Land Cruisers and a lot of the bits on that truck are identical to what I have on my 80. Great read!
For a big road trip with the pups, took out the rear seat bottoms to give the dogs the perfect perch on my old 2013 Tacoma Double Cab. They loved it.
