many, many flaws.

My idea for this would be something that registers when you don’t have both hands on the wheel. Hard to text with both hands on the wheel.

ps. there are many flaws with this idea.

which trims, etc have the diffs and hill descent? Considering a small, efficient but mildly capable vehicle.

I know this may be impossible, but I think it’s really the most important test of it’s desireablity: try to not look like a douche while driving it.

More on the fast/slow off/on tip:

While I was looking for a tiny, efficient convertible I was strongly considering a Geo Metro Convertible:

Boom. Ford Quigly conversion 4x4 full size van for $14, 997.

Tons of truth here.

For decades the American brands rested on their laurels, content in the knowledge that they didn’t have to make good vehicles to sell to the American public. So they put out junk. And continued to put out junk. They might change a slogan to “Where Quality is Job One!” or “America’s Heartbeat”, but

1) My car today is the 2) Mazda Miata, and that does indeed make me happy.

Glad somebody got it!

When problems overwhelm us and sadness smothers us, where do we find the will and the courage to continue? Well, the answer may come in the caring voice of a friend, a chance encounter with a book, or from a personal faith.

Can somebody please explain “Status Symbols” to me? I’ve never understood the concept of trying to impress people you don’t know by flashing money. Can ones self-esteem be so low?

I wish there were more minivan/van alternatives in the states. The van game is better than ever with the Transit, the Ram, the NV300 and the Sprinter, but those are pretty damn big. Some options that slot between a mini-van and a van - like the MB Metris - would be nice.

Great article! How about a follow up with a bit of information on the types of bikes out there and the best bets in those categories?

So many fantastic options! I’ve driven all over the U.S. and one of the most outstanding would have to be Utah. Driving around the Moab area exploring around Arches and Canyonlands is like driving on the set of The Road Runner Show (*beep beep*).

I just got back from Plattsburgh/Burlington area. We have a Camp on Lake Champlain, and I concur - terrible, terrible place. Stay away.

Oh so many things:

Helmet, gloves, shin guards, boots. But stick mostly to the dirt.

Not tightening things correctly. Especially lug nuts.
