The 1958 Chrysler 300D Convertible is almost four times rare than a Model J Dusenberg. Is that the standard for rarity now?

I can't stand Mustangs. The new ones are slowly changing my mind, as they can actually steer AND go fast. If it was named something else, I'd probably like it. The old ones are the most boring and predictable collector car out there.
If anyone is looking, there is a clean, non-4x4 in good shape in Atlanta. (I have no involvement in this vehicle, btw)
In Europe and North America, the car’s role as a status symbol has diminished, with sport-utility vehicles and their smaller crossover cousins becoming more popular. In China and emerging markets, Robertson said, hot weather, pollution and a penchant for chauffeur-driven limousines have made sports cars less popular…
If this thing comes to life, what, hypothetically, would be positive things that BMW would provide? The optimist in me says a BMW with Toyota reliability would be great, but the pessimist in me says it'll be Toyota that only runs until the warranty runs out.
Love that old Cressida!
Exactly this, Doug. And also a good percentage of the car buying population has to deal with a little thing called finance and that pesky insurance stuff.
Don't forget: Miata door handles!
500HP? Pshaw. We got a 1230HP Cavalier down here in Atlanta.
Skid steers are a blast. Spend last weekend moving dirt around in one. Bobcat day is the best day.
I've severely tempted to get one. I'm a toyota fan boy, so it makes sense.
Huh. I am surprised. Interesting.
Many people can afford to buy a car if they parse out paying for it over a period of time. A hell of a lot fewer can afford to buy a $30K car with cash. Your comparisons aren't quite valid if you're leaving out one of the MAJOR factors in a car purchasing decision: financing.
Then most people shouldn't read your articles since they aren't relevant.
Sweet! I think there is some magical time frame (5yrs? 6yrs?) where a bank is still comfortable financing it. Enjoy your ride!
You may have already covered this, but isn't it much more difficult, and expensive to get financing on, say, a 2008 Mercedes than a new, say, Optima? Banks don't like to finance things that they can't snag back and sell.
Bonus points for Clutch!
I agree. Mog!
I love the Scrambler, but man , that CB300F is a fantastic price!
They made it to Atlanta, my friend. People are way confused.
I also think I saw them in the Carolinas and just ignored them in my big dangerous truck.
