Here’s the thing - these kinds of racist gaffes seem to happen to Felix and Felix alone. Fellow popular LPers like jacksepticeye and Markiplier never have this problem. Hell, Logan Paul, despite being a general jackass and avatar of internet stupidity, manages to avoid dropping racist slurs.

“I can’t be racist! I met Ben Carson and didn’t say any racial slurs out loud!’

This makes sense to me. One of the first things I did when I got my own e-mail account (about age 12) was to send a vile, expletive-filled reply to one of those “Welcome to CompuServe!” e-mails you get shortly after setting up an account. There was absolutely no emotional component behind my decision to send it.

one time i got so heated during gaming i recited the 14 words!

IMO it’s not that they carry “as much weight” as any other media, it’s that they carry way way more. Particularly where I grew up, a lot of people would drop casual racist/homophobic slurs, make nazi jokes, etc etc all the time.

Exactly!
You know how it is, you play some video games, get angry, then make some videos joking about killing Jews, dressed as Hitler, and using the N-word.

That was you?

You would think so but this man is a multi-millionaire who made his money filming himself yelling into that Internet void. If he can’t understand that his words on the Internet have meaning then what makes you think a basement dwelling troll will?

His defenders are saying that the word slipped out during a “heated gaming moment”. Who among us hasn’t dropped racial slurs while bitching about how you lost a video game?

He’s no racist. He just says, does, or encourages racist things all the time.

Wow. I liked Frances Ha, but couldn’t help that it felt a little...solipsistic? One of those movies that can’t imagine a worse fate than being white and feeling poor in New York. That said, kudos to Gerwig for being able to make herself a going creative concern in an industry notoriously hostile to women creators.

You mean “reach across the aisle”. I point that out because you made me feel fleetingly happy at the image of a frustrated Trump, stuck alone on some remote isle somewhere, desperately trying to reach across it for some pussy to grab but coming up empty-handed ...

Tim Curry is the only part that really works, but he is so great that I blame him for my fear of clowns (probably saw the miniseries at age 7 or 8).

Predator again

Guys, what should my wife and I watch? We just finished the 2nd series of Poldark, we are waiting on the next season of The Americans, what is good out there we need to be watching?

> Even though I haven’t read much of him, this episode is taking a Faulkner-ian view of how grief

I’m facing a serious health crisis at the moment and don’t have answers yet, so perhaps not the time for an episode like this. I was doing okay, on the surface, but after watching this episode I had to go in the shower to cry hysterically so my wife wouldn’t hear me and worry.

I loved the episode, but got stuck on one thing: Lobotomies aren’t performed by cutting into the scalp - a fact that made them extremely popular: The technique was so simple and almost non-invasive that it was done as an outpatient procedure. There’s an episode of “The American Experience” that provides a great

I get it.
