While I’m sure execs aren’t saying, “Hey, let’s make a bad movie,” they are deliberately making movies which are pretty bad. So, yes, they are deliberately making bad movies.

They set out to make safe movies. They looked at what worked in the past and tried to do the exact same thing, like a kid printing money on an inkjet printer and hoping to buy candy. And it’s worked for them for a while. But considering the price of going to the theater, you can’t blame people for looking at RT before

Wait, really? I was seeing trailers for it for months, possibly as early as February. In fact, the first theatrical trailer sold me, whereas the later one(s) would not have.

i become less satisfied as that number goes up. they’ve all been crap, so i’m not sure what number was most satisfying, but there are degrees of suck i’m willing to accept and i know the last two didn’t meet that standard. i don’t care enough to rewatch the first 3 to see exactly when they crossed the line.

I’m all for trolling Republicans in congress, particularly if it inches them closer to turning against Trump. Plus the debt ceiling is one of those vitally important things that the average voter nonetheless knows next to nothing about, so it’s not as if congressional Dems have much to fear from their base on this

The superhero movies of 2017 (GOTG2, Wonder Woman) were the only bright spots.

Maybe they should blame the fact that trying to cater to everyone caters to no one, that plenty of the busts (relative or otherwise) came from running various series into the ground (seen by the almost universal decays in various series), blockbusters are spread out more and more throughout the year, and the

When the first two comments suggesting contestants both worked in the White House this year, you know it’s fucked up 2017.

I mean, it was posted at midnight...

How to lose your loyal reader base in 10 days, or ten things I hate about Kinja

oh oh me too!

And my axe!

We’ve been spoiled by cable and streaming. When the networks come back with their fall lineup it looks more and more painful each time. Kevin Probably Saves The World is something I would have settled for in 2006. Not so much now.

Direct quote from the email I received from Kinja support, asking your exact question: “Legacy account claim is not ready yet — just a few more days! A newswire will be published to A.V. Club once legacy claim is ready.”

A rebranding of DirecTV’s network, I think.

Young Sheldon just looks like Malcolm In the Middle & The Wonder Years without any of those show’s charm.

That surprised me. I don’t have much interest in that show but hasn’t it been widely panned by critics? It’s supposed to be comically bad.

I approve any comment I see that isn’t outright trolling. This means I often approve comments I disagree with so I would ask everyone to keep in mind that approval is not necessarily endorsement. I just recognize that it was mainly luck that I managed to get out the grays.

I like the deal when I hit “View more comments”, it takes me back to the top of the thread and I can re-read the comments I already read.

To the other commenters here who aren’t in the greys: do you approve every pending comment to fish them out of the greys?
