I’ve seen this production, and it is amazing. The signing and singing together create an atmosphere unlike any show you’ve likely ever been to.

So, Spring Awakening returning to Broadway is definitely a story, but the real news is that Deaf West’s version of the play is coming to Broadway (for the first time, rather than this being a pure revival of the 2006 production).
This version of the show doesn’t just “include” sign language, it’s fully bilingual, and

you guys reported on this!! yay!!! this is my favorite show and though the deaf west version is amazing (i was lucky enough to see it in la), nothing will ever beat the original broadway cast imo.

Woohoo I saw the Deaf West original production last fall and it was Amazing. 🙌🏽

The original version by Frank Wedekind is worth a read and still packs a powerful punch.

My female OBGYN for my first delivery was horrible and nearly killed my son. The on-call male doctor did the emergency c-section. My second OBGYN was a man and he was older, amazingly proactive, and took care of me through pregnancy related complications that my first OBGYN did nothing about.

I wish that they would do the Showcase Cinema (? I think that is what it’s called) with Broadway. I have been able to see incredible ballets through that program. A more expensive movie ticket yes, but it brings the Bolshoi or ABT where I can see them. I know so many people who will never be able to afford the money

That wasn’t instinct, that was simply dumb luck of having a pregnancy without complications. And had you had complications, I’m willing to bet that your ridiculous feelings of hostility would have flown out the window. Just like your feelings of hostility towards the hospital magically leave you when you know you’re

I saw this version with the Deaf West cast in LA - really powerful. Still a crazy messed up show/ plot, but the signing really added something to the singing.

The Roundabout/Deaf West co-production of Big River that was on Broadway and toured about 10 years ago was fucking amazing. Sign me up for this one. (And send me a plane ticket.)

I went to theater school in the late 80s, and the original (non-musical) version of this show was an obsession with most of the people in my class. When this musical came out, I took it as prof that my generation controlled pop culture.

I'm with you. So the doctor who saved her child's life, the child who most certainly would have died had she been at a midwife who could not perform surgery, is "cold and indifferent?" I'm sorry he had more important things to do than worry about your feelings! Like, you know, SAVING YOUR CHILD.

Ok, this article is bullshit. You talk about the doctor who saved your first child’s life as “cold and indifferent,” and then rave about the midwives for some reason. This doctor saved your child’s life and you are distressed that he didn’t, what? Coo to you?

When my baby began to die during my labor, within seven minutes of the fetal monitor indicating her distress, he had me stretched out on an operating table and delivered of a healthy newborn.

I haven’t had a baby, but in general I think that what we want from doctors is someone non-judgmental that cares about your health and listens without being dismissive. At least I do. I think it’s awesome that women are the majority (?) of OB/GYNs and midwifes and taken seriously and respected now. That being said, a

She completely lost me when she said that the doctor saved her dying baby & then went on to bitch about said doctor.

Because Pictorial needs clicks, too, and if throwing up a single image surrounded by a shit ton of words that will get the baby mommas and ladies commenting and clicking, then SO BE IT.

So you didn’t make it to the next sentence when she said she was raised in a religious environment that shaped these beliefs but she’s since grown, developed and matured? the TL;DR is women are more maternal and better caregivers... which doesn’t seem to be too much beyond the same gender binary she first established,

Both of my pregnancies were delivered by smart, funny, caring female doctors. The first delivered my distressed newborn quickly and calmly by cesarean. The other delivered my dangerously premature twins by c-section while conducting a jovial discussion of which restaurant had the best chicken wings. In both births I

Everything about this article is fucking weird, and I’m not sure why it’s in Pictorial.
