No doubt this has already been said, but just in case, “Girl, you look like your Daddy spit you out.”

This is Rikey Currys world we’re just lucky we all get to live in it

I see them occasionally out and about in Lafayette and I have to control myself so I don't smother them all with my enthusiasm for their family unit.

We have a Children’s Fairyland in Oakland by lake Merritt. This is what it is now.

Why do thirsty people like this always lament the high crime rates, violence and poverty of ‘old’ New York and try to lay claim to it from their little enclaves of safe streets, organic kombucha turd cocktails and $3000/month 1 bedroom apartments? A man was beaten to death and it makes you nostalgic? That is

*Curry. Jesus. This is what happens when I drink with lunch.

“Old school” New York still exists, just go to the Bronx, you can be in the midst of all the shootings a robberies you like.

The Currys live next door to the family of a high school friend and are, by all accounts, incredibly nice, gracious people. Plus my mom thinks she saw Riley (and Ayesha) when she was walking the dog the other morning. Which is obviously the best celebrity sighting.

I got to be within a couple hundred feet of her today!!!!!

See, if KC Royals fans were gaming the system to vote Riley Cooper to the All Star Game, no one would have a problem with it. See also: NFL MVP, Hart Trophy, Ballon d’Or, Nobel Prize for Cuteness.

She’s very inclusive. Part of what makes her the MVP.

I’m glad the dentist’s office reminded me that there would be a parade today when they called to confirm my appointment. Rescheduled! No way I was going downtown today.

Finally, someone gets it! I saw all kinds of coverage about some big sport game thing and wondered if anyone would step up with the real story.

It took over 40 years for the Warriors to have the best baby in the league. Congratulations on your championship, Riley!

Poor dude. I used to walk by this place every day on my way to work. I lived on Nassau and Manhattan and worked off N 7th St. I feel bad for his daughter and family :(

My former roommate (and former friend) really loved downtrodden areas in an aesthetic sense. Which, okay, I can kind of get. But he’d take it so far as to enjoy riding around Oakland listening to the police radio (I’m not sure what to call it?) for all the crime and murders and things. I was disgusted by this

Some people marvel at those who work in the trades with their hands and talk about how they’d like to do that but if they had actually done so, they’d quickly change their minds. I think the same is true for those who long for a mythical gritty New York — with corrupt but amiable politicians, gang leaders with honor,

Funny how people like him were the ones screaming for more police intervention and control of crime back those “cool eras” of street violence... now he’s reminiscing about those being the “good ol’ days” and they should be brought back?
