If I recall correctly, they have random seagulls that live on their campus... as for the story, this was straight up murder. And with it being family members... my family still up there is in shock about it.
Alturas was in our league too, along with Mt Shasta, I also have relatives who live in obscure places like Bieber, Day and Weed. So yeah, this is pretty close to home...
In addition to your points, embezzlement of monies has been a big issue too, they've had several arrests and convictions up there for that...
I know the Pit River tribe operates one in Burney, but they may be related tribes. I'm waiting to hear back from various family and friends. I haven't really lived in that part of CA for over 20 years, so i'm a bit behind on all the connections, gossip and such.
Here's a further update with names and connections to the shooter: http://www.krcrtv.com/news/local/pol…
Will do, I'm exhausted because of incredibly long day. So I may only be able to muster up starring replies for now. :(
We'll see, but I grew up in one of those teeny tiny towns up there and could be easily doxxable if I give too many details. :(
No worries, wasn't offended in the least. And I'll be checking with my people in the morning.... this is all quite distressing....
Well I'm not from this tribe, but I do have many connections in this part of CA. I'll know more when I call around tomorrow. So far none of the names are familiar, but I haven't lived there in ages, so that doesn't mean much...does that make sense?
You can find more information if you go to the local news sources. I posted a couple earlier.
From that area too, i just posted links for the local newspapers... one of the relatives is commenting on the local coverage. Will be calling folks i know up that way for more info. I wish i could say i was surprised :/
Will do, i haven't been up there in years, but small towns, ya know... btw if you read the comments on this news story, one of the relatives is commenting on the story. http://www.krcrtv.com/news/local/sus… As for me writing something up, we'll see what phone calls i get over the weekend...
Um Burt, this is near where i grew up and there's a good chance that i may know/be related to the people involved. I'll be calling my family from up in those parts tomorrow for more information. In the meantime here's the take from the local paper for that part of the country http://www.redding.com/news/2014/feb/… …
Eh.. I already saw a version of this story on Untold Stories of the ER. Plus I've lived in China, completely unfazed. Now if this was a story about food poisoning, that may trigger a very bad memory or two....shudder....
Hmm... does this insanity apply to infertile aunties who like to spoil their friends offspring? Cuz I may have let their kids take selfies with my phone a time or two, or twenty...oh and I may have used YouTube to distract them while babysitting...maybe...
I got the joke, but seriously, you are aware of this, right?http://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/n…
In my all girls cabin, definitely! As for the boys... ;)
I once worked in a camp that had a large number of counselors from the UK and watching them lose it when one of the American counselors told the kids to sit on their fannies was the highlight of my summer. I also found out that my family's time in Europe had a lasting effect on our tea drinking habits. But that's…
