This is the worst scientific article I have read on Gizmodo, or really anywhere outside of a junior high school biology class current events report

I used to drive an ambulance back in college. Emergency calls aside, it was just really fun to drive to go get some food because it was huge and roomy and made this awesome engine noise that no other car I've driven has come close to. It really made me sympathize with people who love driving their massive cars.
Unfortunately, the technology we currently have for synthesizing DNA is pretty glitchy and expensive - we get oligonucleotides made all the time, and pay about 50-70 cents per base. The problem is once you get to sequences of 100 - the small chance of a wrong base being incorporated gets compounded. For long…
Observations:
Doesn't kill the fish, just stops them from moving. It's like snapping a human's neck. They die from not being able to move the diaphragm and respiratory muscles. But fish breathe through gills, not lungs, so they don't actually die for quite a while
Wooden spoon. Seriously, probably the most underappreciated utensil
I know children swallow all kinds of crap that's bad for them. But in the ER, we see way more kids who have swallowed button batteries and those Tide detergent pods than we do magnets. Button batteries are especially dangerous - they corrode right through your esophagus and into other important things like the aorta.…
This would be for people who have hired help to make their waffles. From scratch, of course
I thought one of them was going to dance onto the barrel and get fired at the enemy
I'm kind of surprised you're not getting IV antibiotics. Hand infections are serious business, and cat bites are especially nasty, because of the bacteria involved and the feline ability to penetrate deep spaces where bacterial really should not be.
I once saw someone try to do this with tartar sauce. It really did not have the same effect
A 5-day prednisone taper is really not a big deal, and you don't get all the steroid side effects unless you're doing high doses for a prolonged period of time. Kids get it all the time for asthma attacks and a bunch of other stuff. I'd certainly be more comfortable with the prednisone than the half-baked method…
Or get your doctor to write you for some prednisone, if you're suffering so much that you're considering the approach in the article
What do the physicists have to say about slipping and busting your face while running to avoid getting wet? Especially since it seems like 25% of the population seems to insist on wearing flip-flops when it's raining outside

It takes a certain amount of balls to be able to operate on the eye, and definitely a lot of skill. I have enough trouble with the 6-0 suture material, which is the finest suture that us regular folk use for things like lip lacerations. The ophtho people use even finer sutures that my hands would be too clumsy to…
I'm getting a great idea for a new Air BnB based business
I'm surprised Ikea is not all over this
Looks like trololo bear
