But if he constantly votes with the GOP anyhow what’s the difference between them really.

If his seat is the one that tips the scales, his vote becomes far less impactful because more senior Democrats assume positions that can control dockets, schedules, and chair committees. He won’t be able to vote on shit takes if shit takes never make it to the floor.

I’m getting really anxious and afraid about the midterms.

Collins, for one.

I want you to be right. I just can't summon up any hope today. Maybe tomorrow.

Right? I caught part of it and just thought “get to the point!” But instead I caught that bullshit concern trolling about how Dr. Blasley Ford never wanted to be in the public eye. Somehow she is a victim but Kavanaugh is not the perpetrator, the Dems are. That part nearly sent me into a rage blackout.

I appreciate her coming forward. It was inspiring. But in the end it meant nothing to those in power. My heart is broken, for Dr Ford, for myself, and for all survivors.

Men still ask “why didn’t she report it?” though. They’ve learned nothing, except that there are literally no consequences for their actions; they learned they can literally assault us and still become one of the most powerful individuals in the country.

The biggest problem is none of this matters. This will sound like hyperbole, but it’s not. This is a full shift into illiberal democracy, the kind of polity you see in Hungary, or Poland, or Israel. Where power is more important than norms, institutions are playthings for power politics, where the majority uses

She’s a fucking liar herself. She only said that so she could have cover to pass the tax bill. Notice she hasn’t brought up McConnell’s betrayal either... I don’t know how the hell she was convinced to vote in favor of keeping the ACA, but that was an anomaly, clearly.

She’s not naive. She’s evil, just like the rest of them.

You know we were united with #metoo last year as well and yet we had to do it again this year. I don’t see any benefits because the collective will go back to where they were before all of this. We drag our pain, our trauma out for display only to be offered looks of shock until we have to do it again and see those

Susan Collins went OUT OF HER WAY to be a totally traumatic asshole.

in a 43-minute speech, announced she will vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh

“He has been an exemplary public servant, judge, teacher, coach, husband, and father,” she said.

After Kavanaugh’s impassioned Clinton conspiracy vendetta rant, I wonder iffairness toward liberals, feminists, women, or anyone else who came out against him will be in jeopardy.

With all of this shit I have to wonder if someone already did that and *we’re* the ones in the fucked timeline.

The gall of that woman to pretend she gives a shit about Dr. Ford or any other survivor

You should feel good. That was incredibly brave.

Yeah, why waste a good collapsing building?
