Also horse girl. You’re in good company.

HELLLL NO. My father shot my mother in a murder-suicide in 2017. This shit is why people had the audacity to say “They went together” or “They just loved each other to much” to me, and to talk about what a “wonderful husband” my father was. Those people didn’t read the police report detailing my mother’s defense

It makes sense that his children would be looking for a good narrative. This is their mother and their father. All of that heartbreak, losing not one parent but both and then one of them actually killed them both. No, that’s really got to hurt. But the NYT is not their kids. They should not be buying into an easy

It IS domestic violence. He murdered his wife. There is no lumping-in required.

In general, I find the shitting-on-popular-things-because-they’re-not-fashionable-with-people-who-matter attitude toward art really hard to sympathise with. In the case of Cats, it seems particularly ridiculous because:

Yeah, I mean, Cats at its peak was a cultural phenomenon I don’t the theatre has seen before or since.

You're lucky anyone responded to a question like that.

This seems rude as Hell to me. Wtf? Cats was a very famous and successful show. The people in it worked very hard.

Is it just me or is this just a little mean spirited? Asking someone if their embarrassed to be in something they’ve done for years? Something that help make their careers? I see the walk back in the beginning but still...I get the Jezebel snark but lately it just seems meaner.

I found Joe Tandberg as Iorek way more jarring than the Scoresby casting. He didn’t sound particularly bear like. I was a bit underwhelmed.

Yo be honest, although Sam Elliot is a Perfect Cowboy, I had always pictured Scoresby as a younger man, much like Miranda in this in fact. I have a memory of him climbing a mountain in The Subtle Knife which I don’t think a gent of Elliott’s age could have done convincingly.

I think the Miranda change was a great move for this adaptation. In the books, Lyra is a sparky character in un-sparky places, like colleges, sober journeys to rescue children, ice towns, etc. In the show, Lyra is occasionally sparky but is mostly muffled by the adults in the show adulting around her (Coulter being

Scattered thoughts:

@LouisaNuddletits: I would love if I failed to the tune of a $400 million business!

@kctomorrow: There is a perfect weight. It is called your birth weight. Going beyond that, even whilst developing boobs and hips, is a crime punishable by death.

I simply cannot live in a world in which a person can gain 10 pounds and go from super skinny to fat. I mean what? I there some perfect weight that I don't know about? It is as though you must stay the same size throughout your entire life or else suffer the consequence of being fat(ter then you once where)

I am henceforth calling this magazine Rich Skinny Straight White People Magazine (With a Side of Dead Kennedy Scandals).
