YYEEESSSS!!!!! This was one of my all-time favorite movies when I was a kid! I basically watched Explorers, D.A.R.Y.L., Flight of The Navigator, Goonies, Short Circuit, and Harry And The Hendersons in an infinite loop. Also sometimes The Three Fugitives, and Turner and Hooch.

“...impressive set of writers.”

I adored this movie when I was a kid. Most people were all about The Goonies, but this was my Goonies. And I loved Maniac, so the idea of an actual Explorers series spearheaded by Fukunaga? Sign me up.

“Space,” it says, “is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space, listen…” – Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams

Boy the Unknown Regions must have been pretty Unknown for a group of Imperial Remnants to be able to build this unnoticed.

Is it just me or does whoever came up with that really dislike democracy?

It is one of the few 90's horror movies that really scared the hell out of me because, like you said, it was just so god damn creepy. It stuck with you and just made you so uncomfortable and at ease. Honestly only the first Hellraiser and Exorcist give me that same sense of dread Candyman gives me. I pity whoever has

It’s a minor detail, but I appreciate that the zipper on her outfit is actually zipped all the way up instead of existing solely to be zipped down all the time to expose her cleavage.

I dunno, I say give it a chance.

And the ship DJ and BB-8 steal looks very Naboo-ish.

Anyone else bothered by the fact that Winterfell has roofs that aren’t fit for a place the experiences heavy snowfall?

the last homely house...

Not really a ton of competition for the position of “favorite smuggler.” I think the only other one I can name off the top of my head is the Onion Knight.

You don’t need a book to explain that, just two words:

Harrison Ford.

I heard that there aren’t enough male actors in Hollywood to play all the (almost exclusively) male characters in “Foundation”, so Scarlett Johansson is going to play Hari Seldon.

I jest, I jest. Of course there are female characters in “Foundation”. Why, the first one enters the story as early as chapter 5 of part V.

I don’t have the patience to actually read this monumental doorstop.

The first novel is going to be tough to adapt, in that for the most part it isn’t really a story, just a series of vignettes of iconoclastic geniuses realizing when it’s time to buck the trend and reform society, all as foreseen by Seldon.  It’s not really much of a through-plot until the Mule pops up and throws

Looking forward to Daveed Diggs rapping about Psychohistory.

You guys just have a giant wheel full of the names of creatives and networks that you spin every 8 months so you can publish a “Foundation is being made by...” story, don’t you?

Now playing

There’s actually a lot of stuff like that in sound effects. The eerie keening sound of the motorcycles in THX 1138 was produced from the screams of several female staffers at American Zoetrope, for example.
