After watching the Digital Foundry video on Motorstorm, I’ve set up RPCS3 on my PC. It’s amazing how fantastic these games look. IMO they’re borderline unplayable on real hardware nowadays, given their resolution and framerate, but they’re incredible in emulation.

What do you mean by “the response”? Lots of people responded, and the vast majority that I saw were clearly not saying that she should have known, but were assuming that she wasn’t aware, and trying to explain to her why it is an issue.

“On the other hand, it reinforces the notion that everyone’s supposed to be up to date on everything and perfect at all times”

Sonic works great in 3D, as long as you put him in a Kart racer like Transformed.

It’s our fault if the game fails, because we didn’t try hard enough to get him to tell us why the game is fantastic.

I mean, it does look kind of chill. Oddly, a lot of people like the enemies, but that’s the thing I have the most reservations about, hitting the same robot model a thousand times again and again doesn’t seem like fun to me. But running around on a weird island and solving weird puzzles, dunno... Maybe?

Dunno, 1000 planets seem feasible if you assume that they combined procedural generation with human intervention. 1000 is still a number where a human being can look at all of them, make sure they are unique and interesting and different enough from each other to warrant a visit.

“So it is that you will see anyone daring to mention the fun they’re having in Genshin Impact being swamped by furiously-finger-wagging”

Yeah, no fan of Bieber and some of the stuff he’s done in the past, but he’s a human being who is right now going through something that is incredibly stressful and scary. Hope he gets better soon.

Lots of parents don’t vaccinate their kids for chickenpox. Even in some Western countries, it’s not on the list of recommended vaccines. Unfortunately, a lot of people still think chickenpox is just fine, if you get it once, you’re good for life. So Bieber’s timeline here is 100% plausible, and if you watch the video,

Yeah, if he actually groped women, then I’d say that a VR exec testing out a VR device using a pillow fight demo is the least bad thing he has done.

There’s just something off with a Sonic game set in a realistic world. If they went with more of a cell-shaded look to the environment, the whole thing would already look a lot less like somebody asset-flipped an empty open-world demo and put a sonic model in it.

Given that you’re now excluding my opinion based on your “inclusive” approach, you have now made it plainly obvious that your position is self-defeating.

“Being selective about what people or ideas you include isn’t exactly being inclusive.”

“Doesn’t thinking of someone’s viewpoint that doesn’t align with yours as “exclusionary” the same thing as being exclusionary yourself?”

“Yawn, another (liberal) author for a video game website trying to take a hit at one of the most innovative men to ever live.”

This article completely glosses over the most important point: how is this monetized?

It’s horrific, but the reason it is horrific is that it represents reality. Most videogame characters are Nathan Drake, but one change. Like Nathan Drake but even more muscles, Nathan Drake but Eastern European war veteran, Nathan Drake but can do magic, Nathan Drake but born in Mexico, Nathan Drake but in a future

It’s already not hyperbole for people who need an abortion in States like South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Idaho, or Tennessee.

Given that people love these kinds of games, and nobody else is making them, making another one exactly like the games people already love seems like a great thing to do.
