Why does it matter whether this is a review, or an opinion piece, or something else? Those are just labels. Either the writing is good and interesting, or it’s not. In this case, it is. I don’t see how anything else really matters.

I think this could have been done well. Receiving an email from this guy is fine, but don’t tell me that I’m not spending enough time in your stupid grindfest of a game. That just makes me not want to play it ever again.
I absolutely adore these games, and love playing them - but I play them offline, on a couch, with three or four friends. IMO, that’s the experience these games are designed for, and in that context, they’re some of the most fun I’ve had with my friends.
