At a certain point, raw mileage no longer matters for a car: everything that has broken will, and everything that needs replaced has been or needs to be again. I think this Saab passed that mark at 200k

Currently in a dispute with my bank over this. I put $2,330 cash into the ATM (I now know this isn’t advised), and got a receipt back for $0. You’d think it’d be really easy for them to verify that there’s an unaccounted for huge sum of money in the machine, deposited at the exact time I said it was. You’d think...
The news said “it is illegal to ‘keep’ the money”.
How do we know the guards didn’t throw $20K out of the door while keeping $155k for themselves?
This is why I don’t do ATM deposits, even though they push me to do it everytime I go to the bank. I was $2 short on a deposit to an ATM one time and they fined me $5 for them having to correct the deposit. Never occurred to them that they lost some of my money and no way to prove it.
And he was promptly thumped on the head and arrested for money laundering.
“Belongs to the bank”
Thats the “I have introduced myself to the police station and hopefully I wont be shot while unarmed later” face
Officer I just pulled over, grabbed some of the money and throw it in the air. I wanted to see what it felt like to make it rain. Sorry there is no video of the part where I threw it.
Its a civil, civil asset forfeiture. As soon as the bank can prove the money was not going to be used for illicit purposes then I would gladly return it. You know, the same hoops the police make law abiding citizens jump through.
To anyone thinking about returning that money; look at the face on the guy in the middle. That is what immediate regret looks like. That is also what your face does when you’ve just proposed to a woman that you don’t even like.
What if you just pulled over to see what was going on? Seems like it might be a little hard to prove who took what.
we have video, we have tag numbers. We have footage of people on the interstate. What we’re asking the public to do is bring the money back
That new-used car, new TV’s, laptops, and new video game systems?
What do you mean I’m being arrested for stealing. I’m just picking up paper garbage.
I found some bills in my mailbox.... can I return those as well?
Alas, local police are being real sticklers about returning what “belongs to the bank” or whatever.
Sure, but when the bank “loses” my deposit, it’s my fault all of a sudden.
Yeah...I found this 10,000 on the side of the road. Good thing I picked up that 9,000 dollars. Who knows what you would do if $8,000 went missing. Damn shame about that $7,000.
