I have this same car, I did the same build a year or so ago after having a slip up in the snow. I would personally never pay that much for this particular car because I paid substantially less for mine. Also the 5.7 and 722.6 Mercedes gearboxes are bulletproof. I’m currently at 325k with mine and she still pulls

Assuming that the front end damage was what caused the title to go salvage. Unsure of when the title went salvage, if it was in the last couple of years it wouldn’t take much to put the car into salvage title. If the damage just included the bumper, a headlight, and replacing the fender and hood due to wrinkling (but

They are really low hanging fruit...

I agree. I voted NP because $4,800 is within negotiation of where this car’s price should be. Especially if I bring real Benjamins.

New headlights and weather tech clear headlight cover film keep them from fading. My Magnums headlights had the film put on when it was new and all these years later they still look brand new.

False, it’s the 5.7/5-speed, if it had any semblance of care it will easily take you another 50k, more likely another 100k.

So your big deal breaker that triggered that ridiculously worded analogy? (I don’t even know what to call it) was: the headlights might yellow?

The 5.7/5-speed combo are pretty much bulletproof.

Why assume the front clip was replaced from an accident?

I find it hard to keep up with them all.

Yup.  And they would sell 8 of them.  And they’d all end up at SEMA booths.

Agreed. I don’t think it’s an outrageous price, but it’s still too much for a salvage title Chrysler with 161,000 on it.

I think this is a decent purchase. I voted NP.

I worked for Chrysler when these were launched and was able to get one through the employee lease program before they were on sale to the public. I LOVED it. It also drew a lot of (good) attention around Detroit and the Detroit-adjacent ‘burb I lived in.

Why can’t FCA bring a Dodge Charger Wagon out now? Hellcat Wagon would be great.

I haven’t seen a 300 estate since our visit to Buckingham Palace and a diesel one was driving through the gates. If it’s good enough for the royals it’s good enough for me.

NVM. Watched the video. Those are some extremely lofty claims.

Jalopnik is more and more becoming a “breathlessly repeat something we half heard over an intercom as if it is fact” rag.

The antiseize causes one to over torque the plug by excessively lubricating the threads. Most plug threads are already coated by the manufacture with anti-seize. They even specifically dictate to not use anti-seize on their websites. Funny part, most people use anti-seize but few use a TQ wrench when doing plugs. I

Apparently - Loctite QuickStix offers Blue and Red threadlockers and copper, silver, and graphite antiseize, along with pipe thread sealant in stick form.
