He sold Project Redwood, IIRC.

Seconded.

Have you thought about starting to work on this soon enough to avoid spending all of the next Michigan Winter in your garage trying to stumble through a major rebuild in a sleep-deprived state?

Just hope the mice haven’t discovered Daft Punk.

Holy moses - I just looked on Autotrader, and nice examples are going for upwards of $30k.  Even mediocre ones are nearing $10k.  I had no idea these became collectible.  Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Soon, a vast majority of people will not know the sound of that metallic sound of a key forcing its way through the lock tumblers as the other keys on your ring jingle as you turn the key.

I’d give you the point on a rental. You won’t have it long enough to get used to it. But owning the car, you’ll forget about it in a month or two

My primary complaint is there’s no dent. How am I supposed to know it’s a Camry?!?!?!

The baleen plates perform a useful function. The recent Toyota and Lexus grilles are just plain ugly for no good reason.

Did you say "Quirks"???

Everything was a deathtrap back then. No foolin.

I was gonna say Nothrop Grumman have a reputation for serious engineering.

Interesting you are forming an opinion not knowing how stuff works. Smaller pellets burn faster, so pressure increase is faster than exhaust holes allow... GM claims they have big exhaust holes so pressure inside does not get critical

The Pinto wasn't any more or less safe than any other small car of its era, statistically. That memo looked really bad for the company when it came out, but the car itself was not unusually dangerous for the time.

To be fair there isn’t a company on earth that CAN promise that not one of its large batch mass produced parts is defective.

“If these air bags are a problem then you need to make GM replace them

“We don’t know which airbags went into which VINs, and we’re not going to recall all of them”

Science. Data. Statistics. GM has evidence, factual proof, their airbags are safe. Why should they be forced to replace them? Because ‘old GM’ is not a reason. Ignition switch failure is not a reason.

Oh, sure, GM gets to plead their case on this one, but tell people that you only served them non-diseased meat from diseased animals and everyone start lawyering up.
