Bahahaha, you aren’t wrong!
Bahahaha, you aren’t wrong!
The BMW gear selector looks so out-of-place in that cabin. Just like it does in the Morgans.
That’s true, and there’ve been other popular vehicles I haven’t liked. I’m not even against crossovers; I daily drive one. I just don’t like this one.
I actually think it’s poorly styled, too. It looks like a rough draft of an actual production vehicle, or a Kia Soul stretched to uncomfortable proportions. Kia is usually on it when it comes to design, but this isn’t cute. It’s hideous.
I wouldn’t think the manufacturer would be on the hook for this at all. The owners should file a comprehensive claim on their insurance.
I’d be curious to know what the depreciation was. How much did you purchase it for, and how much did you get for it, or do you expect to get for it?
You laugh, but my dad actually did have a ‘64 Impala Coupe for most of my childhood (‘90s- ‘00s). He was definitely an N.W.A fan.
The closest I’ve been to a cruise was a Chevrolet Cruze; does that count?
I don’t think they will, especially since they have that covered with the RX 450h+.
There’s also the upcoming CLE-Class, which is a C/E-Class Coupe replacement. That one doesn’t make much sense, either.
I haven’t even thought about the GX 550, only because:
It’s an example of “teaching to a test.” As you said, up to now, the IIHS and NHTSA haven’t really focused on rear-seat occupants, so naturally automakers aren’t putting as much effort into that area. The only automaker that consistently takes a holistic approach to safety and tries to think ahead of the tests is…
Indeed, someone should take on that segment of customers. But no one wants to do so.
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not. Realistically, no brand of anything wants so-called cheapskates if it can instead get higher-priced, higher-margin sales. For cars in particular, cheapskates are likely to divorce themselves from the brand and its profit centers as soon as is practical, by (a) declining to use…
And that’s true.
I would absolutely buy this over a 5 Series or E-Class.
That “for insurance purposes” thing is a myth, but you’re right. I don’t even think an amputee would fit back there comfortably.
The R231 would be this car’s contemporary, not the R129. The R129 was pretty much done when the SC 430 came out.
This is one of those cars that’s perfectly nice, but commands way more money than it ought to, because Lexus. I’ve entertained the SC 430, but ultimately cannot see myself buying one when there’s any number of other convertibles I’d rather have, and that would take a few grand to sort out for good, among them the…
Even the HEMI engines don’t have truly hemispherical combustion chambers, in the strictest sense. They are somewhat spherical. But that’s because an actual hemispherical (as in, a full half-a-sphere) combustion chamber is less than ideal.
