GM began updating its electronics in MY2006, but the G6—a product that originated in MY2004—did not get the interior updates until 2009. Specifically, it was a 2009.5 update. So only 2009.5 and 2010 G6 units have the updated interior, which mainly consisted of a redesigned center stack (radio and HVAC) and a far

The PHEV Pacifica is an excellent choice that a lot of people overlook.

I’m getting an honest 30 miles of EV range out of a 2022 X5 xDrive45e that I’ve had since November 2021, which is what it’s advertised at. That’s my only PHEV experience. But I don’t doubt that a lot of them, especially with the EU’s flawed WLTP, are rated rather optimistically.

It is. I had a 2021 GX 460 Sport Design. It’s a lovely car, but also a compromised one.

Correct. It’s also why some US-market cars have side-swinging doors, because in other markets, they have rear tire carriers. The biggest example is the cousin to your 4Runner, the Lexus GX (both the prior 470 and current 460). The GX shares its body with the Land Cruiser Prado, which can be equipped with a larger tank

More than you realize.

Yep. I had a 2010 Range Rover Supercharged. I love that engine.

All very good info!

We had several sixth-gen Rivieras in the family, including a diesel and the triple-brown 307-powered one that I was brought home from the hospital in...but never a convertible.

A fitting example of GM’s odd longitude-FWD layout, called the Unified Powerplant Package (UPP), wherein the engine sat offset to one side, with a U-shaped transmission connecting to it and wrapping around to route power forward, with essentially a reversed gear-set.

The seat pad is definitely for comfort. The front seats in these Bolts are like sitting on lawn chairs. You have been warned. I’m not sure whether or not the Bolt EUV has different/better seats.

I found a picture of the X5 M60i, which ought to have the M Sport package standard, on BMW USA’s website. It appears to have the same black cutout thing going as the X6, which is a bummer. I suppose it’s not as noticeable if you get it in a dark color, like what appears to be the Tanzanite Blue pictured here. And even

Agreed. Yeesh.

As a 2022 X5 owner, I’m relieved they didn’t fuck it up during the LCI, and iDrive 8 is a big upgrade—not that iDrive 7 is bad. The only thing I’m not particularly fond of is the taillight pattern, which looks odd because BMW shoved it into the existing taillight aperture in order to avoid doing major body stamping

My 2022 xDrive45e is listed as weighing 5,625 lbs all on its own, a roughly 800 lb penalty over an xDrive40i

I have a 2022 X5 xDrive45e, which reliably does 30 miles of electric range in mixed driving.

The official line from Toyota USA is that the Prius is not rated for towing. However, in Europe, Toyota rates the outgoing one for 725 kg or 1,600 lbs. That might be because of Europe’s more-restricted speed limits.

You mean the Fiat Multipla?

You’re right; I didn’t. My mistake.

Since just about everything Toyota offers is either a hybrid or can be spec’d as such—and in particular because of the Corolla Hybrid and upcoming Corolla Cross Hybrid—I was curious how Toyota would keep the Prius nameplate relevant. Heretofore, it’s been a vehicle that prioritized utmost practicality and efficiency

Hopefully not. At this point, Toyota has resisted putting the GR badge on anything that isn’t an actual sports car or performance model, and I commend them for it.
