I was just thinking the same thing... For $100 I would jump on that, but I have no desire to use WebOS for anything.

Yep, I once had a housemate we had to limit speed on. Once we got the right traffic straightened out, it was perfect. Had to boot him from the network a couple of times in the process though...

If they take the same precautions, I might actually expect Amazon to be less likely to screw up than the government...

My brother and his wife used a variety of this illusion in their house. They have an oddly shaped living room, and they painted different parts of the walls with different shades of pain. Because of the way the light fills the room, all the walls look exactly the same, but if you go to each one with a flashlight you

I didn't mean they were in a comeback. I mostly meant I thought their phones had gotten better lately. They may still be losing market share, but at least they have been making a better product.

I actually kind of like it. I think Motorola has come back a bit recently, and if Google were a bit more involved in there direction it might be a great thing. I am imagining the Atrix, but with ChromeOS when it is docked.

That's what I was thinking. 0.01% of total world electricity use is pretty huge.

On the one hand we have people telling us that the cloud and music streaming is the future, on the other hand we have our shrinking mobile bandwidth. I used to use under a Gb of data a month, now I use just under 2Gb because I have started using Pandora as my car radio. If I had to stream all of my music, I would not

A 15" MBA would be cool, I guess, but the mobility minded folks interested in an air would probably not be as interested in one with that kind of footprint and the performance minded folks interested in a MBP would not be likely to get enough performance out of one.

That is actually an interesting statement. I don't know how it works in China, but in the US you get copyright just by making something. If you draw a picture and put it on the web, you now have copyright to that image (though it might be hard to defend in that case). All you need to do is prove you made it and when.

That's the magic of it. The house was foreclosed, and the bank closed down. Someone must "own" the property, but it is probably in some sort of legal limbo.

I've been working in the support department at a hosting company lately, and even there this is the way it is. Customers just imagine we know everything, but they manage to find some pretty unique problems. Half the time I just tell them I am working on it while I Google the problem...

Probably nothing. I don't think OS X install media ever has any sort of DRM or license key check. It is basically down to the honor system (and the fact that it will only run on a relatively restricted set of hardware).

It's expensive, but I would probably go in for the convenience. Of course, my MBP is 2 years old now and has no Thunderbolt port, but maybe eventually.

Oh yeah. I always forget about such unfortunate souls... I am destined to remain on my mother's family plan forever more to keep my AT&T unlimited data.

I think there will always be a place in my life for a dedicated MP3 player, although I admit that place has been getting smaller. Battery usage and storage capacity still keep me using my iPod classic over my iPhone for a lot of music listening. Streaming is great, but when I am in places with poor reception or when I

That's what I do. If I get a friend request from someone I have not met, I decline it. I never have the urge to friend people I know. I occasionally take a look at my friends list and determine if there are people that should no longer be listed.

So... We are going to make gelatin from humans so we don't get animal infections. It's a good thing there are no common and dangerous infections we can get from other humans...
