See... I was kind of disappointed it has a rechargeable. I have gotten used to using Sanyo Eneloops. Once you start using them, you start liking AA devices better than integrated batteries.

That was one of my thoughts too: I can do without GC games, but I use my GC controllers for some Wii games :( I guess the classic controller is not all that bad, but I will have to get used to it.

A bit limited as a test. I am behind a router that I know does not do IPv6, and that site says I am ready. I am pretty sure that is outright wrong. Sure, my browser and computer can theoretically access the content, but it still won't work if I try.

Just curious: What can Audition do that Audacity cannot? I don't doubt that it is good, I am genuinely curious. I use Audacity on a regular basis, but some things could be better. I might be looking to give commercial software a try.

That's a good question... In theory, a microwave oven blocks radiation from leaving, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of them are not adequately shielded. When it comes down to it though, microwave radiation is not all that dangerous. Only a good portion of it needs to be blocked for the oven to be safe. Which is

Less, theoretically. It uses a lower power radio near the same frequency, to my knowledge.

What kind of knife? I carried a perfectly legal knife around NYC for 3 years with no problems. I am from upstate NY, however, where that is a pretty normal thing.

I never had any problems with Synergy, I just stopped having two systems I needed input for. Input Director appears to be only Windows; I was running between Windows and Ubuntu. Synergy worked great cross-platform.

I used to love Synergy (I no longer have a setup that requires it). If you run multiple systems at once, I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Creatures+free+iOS = the end of my life. How can I be expected to do anything with that kind of diversion available?

I think it is pretty cool, but I also don't really care. As neat as it is, it isn't the kind of feature that I would pay for. The games it would "improve" don't really rely on their graphics to keep my attention, and I am more than happy to keep playing them as they are.

I had some of the same thought, but after thinking about it for a moment (no physicist, but I know a lot of physics) I would imagine it is a highly unstable form of matter. It probably only lasted for the merest fraction of a second. And when they say it is what "the entire universe was like immediately after the Big

I would imagine it is the second most dense thing according to theory. We have not technically observed the density of a black hole, but we have a pretty good mathematically idea of what is going on in there.

I pay for Netflix and Pandora right now. I get Amazon Prime free as a student, but I am not sure I would pay for it (I am very cheap...) I use Dropbox, but have collected enough free space to get by without a paid account. That could change in the future, but I don't expect it.

Maybe it doesn't need to be explained to everyone... I knew what that was immediately, before I read any of the article. Just depends on the circles you run in, I think.

I am a bit wary about an e-ink touchscreen, but if they managed to get it right the device looks great.

Unfortunately, the model we envision would probably bring in less revenue, so it is unlikely to be pushed by a major carrier. If you were able to tether an iPod Touch to a bluetooth internet connection, you could do this now (even though the phone choices are not incredible).

Kind of, but it doesn't change the fact that we could have pretty awesome dumbphones right now, but don't. If it comes down to lame phone + mifi + ipod touch, I am not into it. If it were great phone + ipod touch, I would be much more sold.

My girlfriend in high school used computer speakers like those for car audio. Of course, they were just floating around in the car, not mounted so nicely like this project, but it is certainly an option if you can find no other way to get acceptable audio in the car.

I feel the same way! I remember the first time I tethered an old dumbphone to my laptop. It was an exciting experience. At that moment I envisioned a future where the phone is barely a chip with an antenna, and bluetooth and its successors make it the center of modern networking.
