@Arken: Yeah, I miss the days of the generic lego head. It certainly made space exploration seem very cheerful. And can you imagine how good it must feel to be a lego fireman or knight?

I think that works well enough if you are only writing or coding in college, but if you need to use any specialized software (CAD comes to mind in my case) it quickly falls apart.

@sammy baby: Mine definitely seems to have a speed increase. Not sure how to compare with iOS3, but faster than 4 was this morning. I don't think the 3G sees any feature additions with this upgrade, but the speed is worth it if you are already on iOS4.

I've seen a lot of disappointed comments on the new Nano. Maybe I just don't get it, but I am really excited. Good battery life, small size, radio and pedometer (I wouldn't use those much, but they certainly don't hurt).

I am painfully aware of this. I am a 32-34 (actual size, as a tailor would measure it). Not only is it difficult to find this size combination, but in most brands I am swimming in what is claimed to be a 32 waist.

I have been using it for my personal account, but have not found that it makes it any easier than the way i used to keep track of my inbox.

There was a time, back before we all had quite so many services in need of passwords, that my mother started using a little address book stashed in her desk drawer to hold passwords. I thought it was silly, why would I want to write all those down!?

I feel like I should know this already, but: If some 802.11n routers use 2.4GHz and some use 5GHz, are they interoperable? And are all 802.11n wireless cards in computers capable of working on both frequencies?

@Damien Lavizzo: Yeah, I was also wondering how he compares sales prices when the iPod touch is primarily marketed as a music player, a product with much higher demand than a dedicated gaming device. Definitely a skew.

I might have been able to buy into a rental only system if it were very cheap, but considering the amount I am able to watch on Netflix for my $10 a month, I feel like I would never want to spend $5 to rent one movie on the Apple TV.

That is what I have been thinking. I will be strongly considering an iPod Touch if the new ones have cameras and retina displays. If they have front facing cameras and Facetime I imagine I can't resist.

@WookieLifeDay: Well, if we go ahead and concede that he is powerful enough to instantaneously remove all momentum from a large collection of moving bullets, we can probably assume he is powerful enough to impart just as much momentum to get them going again.

@techynottreky: If you think about the iPhone: There is a headphone port on top, and on the bottom there is a mic you speak into while making calls. I believe they are referencing stashing the mic itself inside a headphone port, so that you reduce your number of holes by 1.

Ah, the microwave and X-ray. The vast number of radiological discoveries that have been made by accident is absolutely horrifying. I wonder how much more we would be discovering right now if we didn't have so many safeties in place.

@m.p.hirschman: My deepest apologies. I wonder when I managed to get that idea... I could have sworn I had that right, but it seems you are correct. Thanks.

It is things like this that make me think maybe I would like to forgo a smart phone when I renew my contract. I remember a time when I did not have the web at my fingertips, or a collection of games within easy reach at all times, and I don't remember missing much.

Um... Wasn't the airplane invented in a bicycle company?

Neither seems all that compelling to me at the moment, but I would probably have to go with iPad. The Android market is already pretty fractious and complex. From what I have seen, app creation and OS upgrades suffer because of it. As much as I hate to support Apple lock-in, it really does work for this sort of

@JohnnyNickels: There is some indication that new neurons are formed, though I will concede it is far from a sure fact.
