I’m not sure that level of granularity is publicly available. 20% is pretty much in line with other luxury car manufacturers—hire than many, in fact—so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a pretty accurate measure of margin in a meaningful sense of that word.

This is correct. Tesla realizes margins of approximately 20% on each car; the loss per car figure is a result of intense investment, which is precisely the kind of behavior one hopes for from a company in Tesla’s position and lifecycle stage.

I’m concerned about this for a trip I’m taking in October - dream vacation/30th birthday jaunt to London, Orkney, and Norway, that was only possible because Kayak’s flight alert made me aware of an insane round-trip deal between DC and London. I’m flying back from Orkney into London City Airport, because it was cheap

This is the greatest comment I’ve read all day, among a fury of keyboard warriors. I really wish there was a photo of this spectacular crew. Thank you.

The BGE is worth the coin. I’ve never eaten such consistently good pork tenderloin. Worth the purchase as soon as you can justify. You’ll never use a gas grill again.

This is actually creeping me out. On my way to work today I was thinking of a 0f a future eerily similar to this. 993 Turbo for me and a Macan Turbo for the Mrs. and I hadn’t even seen this article yet. Never really settled on a DD though, maybe an e39 touring. Not to be overly jalop cliche but they do look fantastic

Love dogs. My wife has 2 Australian Shepherds. My initials are AMG (seriously). The connections don’t stop.

Yes, they could offer a 2 year warranty, but not a lot of electronics retailers do. And don’t forget, Apple’s one year “warranty” is FAR more generous than most other warranties for other consumer products. As exemplified by this story, and the experience of many, many iPhone users, the one-year period is basically an

HOLY CRAP, WE SHOULD BE FRIENDS.

Things can’t make you happy. But I bet a 911 and a Big Green Egg would make me more pleasant

The dream

On “The Middle”, Frankie has a largely unsuccessful career as a used car salesperson, but after she’s let go she has to work at the dealer for one day (sitcom logic). She didn’t give a crap, was actually rude to customers, and sold several cars.

So instead of treating him like a potential customer (even if he seemed brash), you treated like an asshole. Can't wait for direct sales. You say yourself it was possibly his first time buying a new car. You could have had a customer for life. As someone who runs a small business, I've never seen more ass backwards

“We forget sometimes that acting, like everything else, is just a job. And nobody takes that job more seriously. “

Most manufacturers know what the majority of their customers want. The simple fact that the Z06 is available in a convertible with Z07 package indicates GM knows that 95% of Z06 customers will not see a hot track day and therefore will never have these issues. Those who do go to tracks are generally happy to get an

Tadge had a chat with the guys over at CorvetteForum and he basically said cooling was a compromise with the design and aero guys. They conduct testing at 86 degrees and they normally expect people that track their cars to go manual so the manual is better for the heat. Basically the front cross section of the car is

When I tested the Z06 the NCM track in Kentucky on a 90 degree day, I could get 5 laps at a time before the oil temp would spike to nearly 300 degrees and I’d have to cool it down for 30 minutes or so. Z06 is amazing for quick, time-attack stye racing, but would be frustrating for recreational track days without an
