This is a strategy and a language that Ford was using not that long ago under Hackett. I didn’t get it then and I don’t get it now.

Oh snap. You just got knocked off your soapbox. That’s what you get for going for a cheap gotcha.
Dempsey has been a star pretty much since his teens, and I think it’s rare that people survive that kind of stardom without some deep-seated narcissism and psychological trauma. So I bet he was a real asshole on set anyway. One exception to this is Bill Murray, one non-exception to this is Chevy Chase.
Lol. OK - 23k is probably slightly high for this car, but considering what piece of shit E30s are going for, it probably isn’t too far off. Not saying I’d pay those prices either, but whatever.
That would surprise me. I have a five year old that rides in the back of my 80s 911 with zero problems.
I’m sure both the Supra and Z4 are perfectly fine cars. If you’re into the convertible GT thing at a certain price point I’m sure some people would go Z4.
The fact that it has been redesigned doesn’t make it any less of a GT car. Absolutely no one is seriously putting this thing up against a cayman. Plus the original post isn’t asking for a new car.
Considering the Z4 has been so meh that BMW was going to kill it I’d feel pretty confident that my money would go elsewhere without having driven it. I’m sure it’s fine but pretty much Porsche is the gold standard for driving enjoyment. And the cars that are equally fast and fun for the money are pretty few.
Chart is current. Dashboard light aggregates data from cars still on the road. You know. Like Pontiacs and Saabs.
Volkswagen has been pretty unreliable for a while. Like. Decades. Porsche are always pretty reliable. Frankly. So is Mercedes. BMW. Not so much.
Well. Since anecdotes mean absolutely jack shit. Your Volkswagen is overall an anomaly. As the owner of several German cars including a 2015 Volkswagen - a Mercedes - a Porsche and also some non German cars - like a Land cruiser and a 4Runner. The newest one and the only one under 100k miles is far and away the least…
These cars generally don’t just blow up. Mercedes makes good cars. The beat to hell ones you see around town are beat to hell because someone didn’t do basic maintenance on them. Sensor replacement and basic service is easy and usually not that expensive. Head bolts are harder but also not impossible. Removing a valve…
Meh. I’ve owned several. Even light DIYers can usually maintain these with a good set of hand tools and a battery impact wrench to make things easier. Modern engines are pretty solid generally. This wouldn’t scare me at all. $20k for one? Not sure, rather have the E Class.
This dude is soooo unlikeable. Honestly I give him the benefit of the doubt because I think he’s altered the automobile industry, but he doesn’t give a shit about anyone, and never ever shuts his mouth.
Yes. Because cars being more expensive and middle class families making less has nothing at all to do with this dynamic.
Hey dummy. I have a 99 land cruiser that cost me under 10k and it’s brilliant. A w124 300e that’s also brilliant that cost me 800. Then another 2 grand to make the suspension all the way new and it’s also brilliant. Then there’s my Porsche. It definitely didn’t cost me under 10k but it’s worth more now than when I…
I’m waiting for that $10k EV. I know everyone says cars aren’t an investment, but the last four cars I’ve bought and kept or sold were sold for a profit not including consumables. I’m allergic to the idea that I will pay five figures for something that will be worth four figures by the time I’m finished.
At the beginning of the video did he call out the bangle era as a success?
