How much do you think an entirely new suspension costs? And I’m not talking Monroe + Moog. Then install? I’d DIY but most people won’t. That alone is a few grand. Even on the low end it’s 2, on the higher end it’s like 5 when you’re getting serious shocks and stronger control arms.  This guy is talking about a Gobi

There are custom rack builders that make cheaper racks that are just as good as Gobi. They’re still 600-800, but it isn’t Gobi prices. It’s interesting that you have to spend 20 grand in suspension upgrades, racks, tents and other equipment just to “rough it”.

I know you’re joking but. The 86 is awesome because it’s light. Adding 50-100 extra horses by turbocharging the engine wouldn’t make it as heavy as the Supra.

What are the odds Olive Garden stays in business that long?

I think if BMW could build a Z4 that truly competed with the Cayman they would, but more than likely they’ll never overcome the advantages of mid-engine. Sure it’s best at the limits, but you feel the engine placement in everything you do, and that’s what makes the Cayman engaging.

Faster....in a straight line?

I don’t know about new cars, but for classic cars, I’m seeing the big wheel trend scale back a little, and people that used to stick 18s and 19s on vintage Porsches, BMWs and trucks are going back to having some more meat on their tires. It looks so much better.

I have jack stands and a floor jack. And I’d totally do this job.

I didn’t say it would be easy, but as someone who did an engine and transmission swap and rebuild in my garage - and who knows people that have dropped engines alone in their garage - for mid engine cars - I can tell you that - yes... you absolutely need a garage, and a lift would be nice, but tall jack stands and a

If you have a garage and some mechanical inclination - a clutch replacement on this car wouldn’t be outside a possibility

Thanks for this. First argument for LCD I understand.

I did mean the E9. No idea why I typed E7.

Nice! My least favorite argument is the “they need to solve the problems in their own society before they start blaming white people,” as though the systemic poverty that people of color and especially the black community in the United States live in has nothing to do with hundreds of years of oppression and abuse.

Don’t some fairly decent OLEDs get within shouting distance of this price during promotions?

Every time I look on an E30 or E28 or the E24 - my heart keeps going back to how amazingly beautiful and simple the E7 is, and I realize that anything else to me, would be a compromise.

You’re right. They breed and spread indiscriminately, and their adaptability, intelligence and resiliency in effect make them a parasite on the world. Sounds almost as bad as humans.

I’d agree. But we’re comparing to the C8 here. It’s both much lighter, and much smaller - 400 hp is a lot of HP for that car.

The C8s listed weight is the dry weight. The Evora’s listed weight is the curb weight. The C8 is going to be ~400 lbs heavier.

I’d never get a C8 over this. Almost no one has a chance to really wring out lap times out of a car, my enjoyment is 100% about how the car involves me and how it feels. The weight difference alone makes a huge difference in the steering. Size makes a huge difference in involvement. Doesn’t mean other people wouldn’t

Yep - fair - I can amend my thought to say that some people change their minds but only when it impacts them personally.
