Why are the GM’s on steelies?  Seems kinda weird.  Maybe easier to fit in the train cars?  Or destined for dealer-added aftermarket ones?

What’s in the passenger seat?

Good ass Jalop, Jason.

Great story, thanks for posting.  What sort of fuel system is that?  Looks like something early and mechanical, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s more modern with just a vintage appearance.

Viper, I’ll grant you that. And after “sitting” in the back seat of the Mustang, I realized if I was going to buy an effective two-seater, I could save 30K, 500#, and about a foot of length by buying an actual two-seater. Which, incidentally, also shares components with rental cars (I’d assume, at least, GM being GM).

Narrow crack pipe for me. I’ve seen (nearly as) nice ones locally for 12Kish including color matched hardtops.  Sure they have more miles, but honestly, miles aren’t really an issue for Miatas.

After shopping a Mustang GT (or GT350) and “settling” for a C6Z due to size/weight preference, I gotta ask. Of the domestic high-HP options, who wins when cornering, braking, and HP/# is factored in? Have to think the ZR1 is still far out in front.

How is buying something with worse-than-average depreciation a smart move?

Former 04 owner, and I agree completely with everything.  I’d add that the interior illumination design is atrocious - there are different color lights for the dash, HVAC, windows, stereo, and it’s just ghastly.

Wish I’d had these for my C6Z, first drive I broke the “splitter”.

Yep, future’s definitely hazy. And that’s all the more reason to be happy with a 3. I have very “2" 240Z, and I almost never drive it. Part of that is it’s a little rowdy for my 45 year old bones, part of it is I always seem to turn into a maniac behind the wheel, but mostly it’s just too nice to want to leave in a

Sure sounds like a minivan would fit the bill.

Good analysis of drivers-vs-restos. (except I think your numbers are backward vs Hemmings if that’s the “standard”?)

I think it’s a bit of a stretch to tie the trade deficit and theft of intellectual property together.  Not saying that both aren’t an issue, maybe even tangentially related, just saying that I don’t think they’re two sides of the same coin.

I thought it was Kristin.

Honestly, what is the point of omitting mileage info?

Just do the math - what’s it cost to get it running, painted, reassembled with spotty resto of missing parts? 10K? Can you find a complete one for 15K or less and save the time, and maybe retain originality? Probably.

The crazy thing (both in my practice and in the comments below) is the utter disconnect between “Total Tax” and “Refund” in the hivemind of the taxpaying public (and the clickbait media). The gov largely lowered TT for almost everyone (except high earners without kids) but lowered withholding by at least as much, and

Good for you!  Seriously, no internet snark - if you’re earning more than EIC will let you, that means you’re headed in the right direction.  Pay attention to retirement, your kids’ education, and live well below your means.  It’ll pay off.
