CP. If you want a truck, you can get a more modern one with better NVH, safety, performance, economy. If you want a hotrod, trucks are silly, but you could still do better with something else. The trucks from the mid-fifties onward are pretty similar mechanically, with far more style.

A generation from now, assuming any of these are still around, fans on opposite sides of the Atlantic will be enthusiastically searching for the alternates. Ey Bruv, take a butcher’s at my USDM buttons!

I think many people overstate the interest of their personal data.

Live by the sword...

If you’ve never seen top fuel in person, you really need to do it. Time and space distort in a wall of sound and a cloud of nitro.

I agree with you on a lot of this, but remember that purchase price is a sunk cost. As loan principal is a function of purchase price, it too could be considered a sunk cost.

In CA, that’s a crack price.... smogging things from that era is too big a headache. If it were pre-smog, then it might be a go.

That is almost as ugly as the early Bangled 7's. Hate it. BMW peaked with E28/30/34/38. Recent 2-series as an otherwise lonely bright spot, they have completely lost their way.

Very cool vehicles, even more so in person. But that’s a lot of money for a “not-old-enough-to-be-classic” orphan.

Did anyone tell you there are only three Star Wars movies yet? If not, you should have a talk with your parents.

How hard is basic maintenance on one of these? Some of the early FWD V6's had some seriously awkward access issues. (hell, some [most?]) modern ones too)

400/400 CTSV to 250/300 GTI. I’m happy. Nice to be able to buzz around and use all the power.

Neat project! But for 28K, you could have built (or bought) a really nice stocker, added aftermarket suspension and brakes, and have proper deep-dish wheels.
