I agree insomuch that I think this was a very reasoned explanation that I’m happy to take at face value. I do have suspicions that this explanation may be omitting a lot. What’s not mentioned here is game production delays, potential setbacks (grapevine suggests that some music was sent back because they focus-tested…

But would have customers really demanded full refunds if id had just told them that the OST would come months later? Its not like the OST was the only thing that was inside it. Or does a refund in this case means you dont have to return the other stuff inside?

Mastering used to be an art... There were only, like, 4 places that all of the labels would have their stuff mastered. One was in Portland, Maine, Gateway Mastering Studios, about 3 minutes from my old apartment.

If they’re not willing to work with him on the DLC, it’s unlikely they’re willing to work with him on future titles either. There’s a good chance they’ll use the search for a DLC composer to find a suitable long-term replacement too.

They took him off the DLC - so chances are incredibly high they will never work with him again.

Funny thing is that most of those audio “engineers” hired to master a record, are behaving like fucking robots, automatically applying the same filters and compressors to everything that has the misfortune to land on their shitty 2015 macbook pros.
