Bobby, though I would miss you terribly if you ever left Jezebel, I think you have found your true calling, writing the scripts for the “reality” show known as KUWTK.

As someone who grew up a metal head. but would pop in Manilow’s greatest hits when shit got really dark. I’m super glad he’s at a place in his life where he can live, in love... out in the open.

I thought it showed really well that the dysfunction of domestic violence is so powerful that, even if you do have the time and money to go find a bolt hole, you may not be able to psych yourself up to leave and take your children with you. It showed how powerful that fear can be.

So, I immediately start looking for the website that saved my life, and it’s down. It was Not to People Like Us, and it was a site dedicated to upscale abuse, and how it differs from what we normally equate DV with.

“Not to People Like Us” is a pretty interesting book about “upscale domestic abusers” in Chicago’s North Shore.

Just want to say good luck to you and especially your friend. I’m glad she has your support and I hope she’s able to leave safely.
