It’s a soap opera with “real” people. I think it’s stupid as hell but I get why people are entertained by it.

And yes I can’t stand the MCU or DCU. I hate the superhero genre.

This is honestly the best video I’ve seen in years. Paget Brewster is amazing.

I love that Hawkeye is the first, because he would be, but I agree that EVERYONE kneeling is definitely hokey. I think it would’ve been cool to see everyone do their own thing. So Hawkeye kneels, and then maybe have Black Panther do the Wakanda salute, have Cap and Marvel and any other military dudes do a salute, etc.

I love that we live in an era where Brian Michael Bendis being on a late night talk show is not a weird thing.

Oof. That first scene was pretty cringey, but I kind of liked the rest of the trailer? Kevin Smith is such a nice dude that it doesn’t really matter if this is terrible, I still want to see it just to support the guy.

Does GOT really need 4 noms in the supporting actress category? Though it’s nice to see Gwendolyn nominated, as I think it’s her first time?

I will apologize for the hyperbole. That was intentional rhetoric on my part, but this being the internet, my inflection was completely lost. I can only speak for my own experience and observations living on this earth for 30 years. To clarify, in my experience, I’ve only witnessed white people complain about PC

I can believe those percentages, but only because “politically correct” has itself become a dirty word with an ambiguous meaning. I’ll look into reading the full report later, as I’m interested in how respondents actually operationalize what “being politically correct” actually means.

People think that if they’re “not

For real though. The “politically correct” part is still the issue. Only white folk complain about having to be politically correct, because for us POC/LGBT etc., “politically correct” just means finally being recognized and respected by the society we live in.

I have a pet theory that Disney secretly pushes the Lion King is just Hamlet takes to distract from the more controversial take that Lion King rips off Osamu Tezuka’s Kimba The White Lion.

I miss early 2000's The Rock. The Rundown, Walking Tall, Be Cool, and Southland Tales were not amazing movies, but at least he was actually trying to act in those films. Now he’s just the same character in everything he does - big smoldering muscle man who is also very charming.

I’ve seen lots of people comment about the influence of The Thing on this season, and while I don’t entirely disagree, I think the more apt comparison is The Blob, as The Thing takes places in Antarctica and The Blob takes place in a small town much like Hawkins.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers + The Blob + Red Dawn is

tbf, they’ve apparently been together all day every day for like 6 months, which is pretty excessive.

I think Del Toro is still technically working on his Pinocchio movie, but he’s also working on a like a dozen other films so who knows.

I don’t think I have ever sat and thought on a dialogue choice as long as I did in this instance in any game.”

A certain rooftop scene in Life is Strange did this to me. It was agonizing.

Seriously, I’m not a big amusement park guy, hell I can probably still count on two hands the number of times I’ve been to places like this, but I’ve never waited more than 45 minutes for a ride. If you’re spending more time standing in line than actually enjoying the park, there’s a problem.

Calling immigrants and refugees “defectors” is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. We’re not at war. They’re not choosing America over their homeland, they’re choosing the potential of a better livelihood for themselves and their children.

I’ve never thought about it in this way before, but you’re absolutely right. Now I don’t feel so bad about neglecting some of the games on my shelf.
