I appreciate that they are taking some liberties with characterization of black people in NYC (jazz musicians and smoking weed on the corner / bit of eye roll at that one). At her job (how everyone was praising how beautiful one of the black store clerks are / again slight eye roll) and Maisel’s enjoyment of Redd

If you’re only interested in consuming content that speaks directly to your specific demographic why bother to consume the content at all? By your account, nobody should be interested in fantasy scifi or comic book movies because there are no real life dragons/cyborgs/or superheroes. Are white people not allowed to

I get the not about us part, but I am wondering why it is not for us.

It’s a look.

i would have listened without Beyonce being her sister. A seat at the table put her on her own island in ways her prior albums didn’t. and i too actually like her. so i’d give her a shot off of GP. and i dont think she’s untalented. i think the bar was set so high with her last album that this one feels bad.

I need “Binz” to be a full song. I have it on a loop .

aside from all of the general horribleness around how he’s been treated so far, within an administration so obsessed with money, you’d think they’d let someone who makes millions of dollars slide—21 Savage would end up paying a lot of taxes, as well as supporting plenty of other people (agents, managers, etc) who also

There is very much an in-depth discussion long overdue for Black America about understanding the lives of Caribbean, European, and African Americans. Too much is lost in translation of how Blackness is defined, and often Black America is very dismissive and blind to its own xenophobia.

He is tremendous. One of my few and minor nitpicks with The Good Place is that they went really fast past the possibility that Tahani might have a thing for Chidi, as well as “real Eleanor” (Tiya Sircar). He was very interesting with both of them too.

You mean Chidi AnnaKendrick?

I could be completely wrong, but I think he’s coming from often seeing an interracial relationship as a story all on its own, where in The Good Place, the story wasn’t about the trials of being a mixed-race couple, but they just happened to be their respective races while the plot and action was all completely based

The Good Place is fantastic television. Chidi ArianaGrande (nailed it!) is so earnest and hysterical all at the same time.  His reactions during the real life train paradox were so good I had to keep pausing the show until I stopped laughing.

You know how we as black people go to scary movies and yell at the screen, “WHY YOU GO IN THERE? NO! HE THE KILLER! RUUUN! IF THAT WAS ME I’D blaseblaseblase...”

The Cardi B fascination is pretty easily explained. She is someone singing about her life and what she knows. She as a stripper, a woman whose livelihood depended on her sexuality, who became what many probably just dream about: not just powerful because she rose to the top of the girlfriend heap but because she has

The reason why most pop stars are famous, the lyrics are simple easy to grasp with catchy hooks and clever turns of phrases in the pre hooks and the ends of verses. She is also excellent at self promotion and understands her brand. Listen I have my own issues with cardi, and issues not necessarily with her but with us

Nothing but respect for my fucking president. She did that shit. I STAN.

So, me have theory, and stop reading now if you not want spoiler for thing that probably not real part of show and me just made up.

LOL!
