Would love it for Turo to check this guy’s other rentals and see if there’s anything that is identical to this. It’s obvious he’s got this little statement all lined up and ready to go, so I bet it’s just copy/pasted across multiple rentals.
Or make sure your car insurance/credit card covers everything. Did $3k worth of damage to a Jeep (punched a hole in the fiberglass roof) that I rented once while on vacation, and while it was a bit more legwork I ended up paying zero dollars out of pocket, and my insurance didn’t change. Insurance covered everything…
So you just have to change the body, the suspension, the wheels/tires, the interior, the engine and transmission?
Counter-counterpoint - No, no they don’t.
FYI, I thought the same when I first saw it, but if you look closely there is a second bar on between the pivot point and the brake pads. So yes, they are dual pivot (or technically tri-pivot since there’s a second additional pivot on the other side). You can see it clearly here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/32445842741…
Oh God, I used to hate cold carb mornings. I had to drive down a hill from my house, and it was always: drive up short hill on gear. Then, as I start going downhill leave in gear until getting to the stop sign, then left foot clutch, shift to neutral, left foot off clutch and on to brake, right foot giving gas at the…
Put me in the “rather put that money towards a better quality of life or savings for a future better quality of life” category as well.
The notification system on iOS is steaming hot garbage. The notifications are on the app itself, not a notification bar, so if they don't hear the chime originally they might not see it if the app isn't on the home screen. It's annoying enough that a friend and I had to switch back to SMS from Signal because she…
I’ll take Southwest over others even if the prices are the same for one reason: Free checked bags. You know why? Because it means every single idiot isn’t trying to drag an oversized roller-bag on to the plane. Even though I do carry-on (I travel with just a 40L backpack), it’s SO much easier and nicer to board and…
Do winter tires on a set of undersized steelies count?
I’ve flown all over the US and Asia, on a bunch of different airlines and Southwest is probably my second favorite after Cathay Pacific. If I’m paying my own airfare, it’s easily the favorite. No upcharge for window/aisle seats, no bullshit baggage fees, etc. The fact you listed those two makes me think you’ve never…
This sounds kind of like “passengers must turn off all electronics before takeoff” bullshit.
Again, everybody already has *one* set of tires, usually whatever came with their car. So what are you going to do, throw away a decent set of tires for a set that’s only marginally better in snowy conditions?
I’ve got an original ‘05 tC (no TC/SC) and it went from being undrivable in the snow to freaking great in it. Years ago I was in the Upper Peninsula and they’d gotten ~5" of fresh snow, and I somehow ended up on a deserted, unplowed road in the middle of nowhere and had my own little rally stage. One of my favorite…
Lol, you have way more faith in the American public than I do...
It’s been a while since I had my Cherokee with ATs, but I will say that it was fantastic in *deep* snow. 5" plus and it was amazing. But it was downright scary in small amounts of snow or ice, as it just didn’t give enough traction for ordinary driving. Combine that with the fact that it was only part-time 4wd, and…
So, instead of getting a second pair of snow tires to augment the OEM tires that came on my brand new car, I should just literally throw those away and get 4 *new* tires that are barely mediocre in the winter?
We’d rather spend $400,000 per year per inmate to hold them at Riker’s Island after they commit a crime...
Uh, just FYI, the store-bought pasta is just..... flour and water. And unfortunately some (most?) store-bought pasta sauces are loaded with sugar, which might be what you’re reacting to. If all you’ve ever had is sugary sauces, it’s no wonder the actual authentic ones aren’t going to taste the same.
