She saw the cop car’s lights, which is why she put her flashers on and slowed down.

Dunno, if I were buying one I’d jump at the hybrid in a heartbeat.  40mpg around town?  Sign me up!

So she just randomly slowed down and put on her flashers when he put his lights on? Like, just a pure coincidence?

It’s not just about the cop’s safety, but the woman’s safety as well. If she were half out in the road and a sleepy trucker rear-ended them, it would go badly for both of them.

Not ignored, she slowed down and had her flashers on.  Which is exactly what the woman did.

So are you saying since you’re a minority you shouldn’t have to follow the Arkansas vehicle code? Literally the first three things it tells you to do if you’re pulled over are exactly what she did.

Love is only a socket set away.

Don’t forget this is *rated* MPG.  So basically a pretty damn-big pickup truck gets 6mpg better on the highway than my (car-shaped) Scion tC.

I’d rock that in a heartbeat. My main mode of transportation is a bicycle, and I put 2,000 miles per year on it (and about 1,500 miles per year on my car). Unless you can somehow claim that this is *less* safe than a bicycle, I really don’t think you have much of a point.

I’ll admit I’ve never owned an SLR, but I *have* owned a liftback with a reasonably heavy hatch and two struts that both hold it up (with a lot of force) *and* is reasonably easy to close. I think that the struts were ~$12 apiece when I bought them on Amazon.

Oh man, I do miss them just sitting around and riffing with each other.  I enjoy that more than the elaborate staged stuff they’re doing now.

Lol, I see you your “revered E30 318is” and counter with a 2005 Scion tC which got to 60 two full seconds faster than this, and literally cost 1/3 as much.

To save $200 (or whatever) by reusing the seats Ford is going to have to pay a huge fine and penalty.  Penny-wise, pound foolish?

Amateurs.

Maybe people buying that 540i should pay more to have it delivered, instead of having X5 buyers subsidize their shipping costs?

But who are the dealers having an “advantage” over?  All regional costs will be the same, and I highly doubt consumers are going to cross shop a dealer in Michigan (or wherever) with a dealer in California.  So unless the customer was willing to fly out and drive their RV back (which, honestly should be an option?),

It’s because American consumers are both lazy and stupid. We see the lower retail price (sans-fees), and think “oh, sure, that doesn’t sound too bad” and by the time we get the full price after all the bullshit we’re too lazy to take our business elsewhere.

I pay “shipping and handling” when I buy a product that is currently somewhere else in the country and have it shipped to me.

I’d agree with you if the state was also making various brodozers illegal due to (as you say) “safety issues”.  Massive lift kits on trucks and SUVs leads to massive safety issues as it degrades the handling, the visibility, stopping and turning, as well as increases the damage to other vehicles when it gets into an

You know that there’s a reason why big, wallowy cars aren’t built anymore, right?
