As a product manager, I think he gave a perfectly adequate explanation. These are aimed at a target market, and required to hit various performance thresholds for those target consumers. If their target consumer is not going to be flooring it for 15 minutes in deep sand, then why put all the expense in to ensuring

FYI, they’re not made from “pure aluminum”. It’s a triple-ply set, with a stainless exterior, aluminum core, and a ceramic (nonstick?) cooking surface.

Yup. I picked this up immediately after Christmas for ~$32 from Ali Express, and it is light years better. I’ve been using it for the past 2 months and with just some simple honing it’s still far sharper than the Cutco ever was. I know it might not be “Japanese VG10 steel” (although who knows), but it’s sharp, it

Ugh. My family is a “Cutco family”, which means that they don’t know what a good knife is beyond that. Everybody has Cutco knives, whether it’s a small paring knife or the ubiquitous sandwich spreader. After my wife an I bought a house, my grandmother got me the sandwich spreader, a cheese knife, and the 7" chef’s

I *managed* long trips by sticking my nose in a book from the moment I could read (say, 6 or so). In fact around middle school my parents drove us across the country, and I read through the entire LotR books, a trilogy by Kathrine Kurtz, and probably a few others.

Works pretty well for me, although I was able to find a station without interference?

That’s both interesting and horrifying.  To be fair, you’re not missing out on much.  My ‘05 tC has anti-lock brakes, and they’re pretty horrible.  Super-aggressive, comes on at the slightest slippage, and ultimately ends up increasing stopping distance by quite a bit in the snow and ice.  Wife’s 2015 Sonic is far,

Part of me is proud of how I learned to drive on a 4sp with a dying carb (1980 Chevy Monza), and part of me is grateful that no one else will ever have to put up with that shit.  This was my routine on a cold day:

$17.

Lol, of course it’s important. The entire point of NP/CP is whether it’s a worthwhile deal, and when you can get a BRAND NEW ONE for only a little more than a 6 year old vehicle, it shows that the $17.5k price isn’t reasonable.

Lol, so instead of admitting that you didn’t know what the MSRP on this thing is, you’re doubling down on your stupidity?

The current vehicle is 3k pounds, with a 1k pound carrying capacity.  I can’t imagine that the new one will be 8k pounds?

Damn, hadn’t realized they were that long.  Looks like even the normal Prius is too long, too (including the older egg-shaped one).

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Don’t give them any more ideas!

On the flip side, counterfeit Yellow Tail might actually be drinkable.

Wife has gotten in to making her own kombucha lately, and it’s...... easy. Boil water. Throw some tea bags in it. Cool and put it in your fermentation jar with your scobi and let sit for a while. Divide in to your normal bottles, and leave alone for a while. Put in fridge.

EVs excel at stop-and-go traffic, far more than ICE vehicles do. They’re also the most efficient at slower speeds, meaning driving 10mph from one house to the next would actually be the *most* efficient way to drive them. In my neighborhood I’d be shocked if a mail van ever broke 20mph since he/she has to stop

Most of the time I see them being used for package delivery it’s on Sundays when there’s no regular mail anyway.  At that point why bother with multiple vehicles?

You can also pack several LEDs in to a small area to give you pretty much as much light as you want.  Only issue is heat, but I’m sure that that could be figured out as well.

Oh man, I’m guessing they’re not going to cut the range too short to allow for interchangeability, but you could build a CHEAP electric vehicle that only has ~30 miles of range since batteries are by far the most expensive part. At that point you’d probably be cheaper than traditional ICE.
