You can still definitely hear emotion in people’s voices no matter what language they’re speaking, so a well acted Japanese VO gives dialogue more impact than a dry, wooden English VO even if I can’t understand the language.

It’s only odd because you don’t understand. Fan translations are always more faithful to the original work. Official translations often change names and story elements for silly reasons especially on long RPG games, not to mention censorship.

Your first point is utterly irrelevant. They clearly didn’t make the Switch screen out of a plastic stronger than steel.

The switch’s screen is made of plastic. The dock is made of plastic. Plastic can scratch plastic. If it were made of glass the dock wouldn’t be able to do anything to it, but if you happen to put it in at the wrong angle the dock can scratch the screen very easily.
