Also, Hill staffers tend to be kids who come from well-off families because getting into politics is A LOT about connections. There are tons of Ivy league and top-tier school grads on working on the Hill, so don’t pity them (us) too much.

As someone who worked on the Hill after graduating college, it’s not that bad. There are plenty of affordable housing options, you just have to be willing to live with a couple other people at first.
