Right— like is this returned Jezebel going to continue with the classist, ageist, internalized misogyny and conservatism that they thought was “politics with teeth?”

This.

My sincere hope is the site is not just back but returns to some of the former quality and insight that made it a an outsized-pop culture staple. Frankly the site had been in decline for years before its shuttering. I don’t mean to shit on you or any other writers who, I gather, have been working under less-than-ideal

With all those articles you wrote complaining about how cheerleaders are treated when you started at Jezebel, do you mean to tell us you never complained once about it while you were an actual cheerleader?

I’m not sure I understand the tone of this article. I think there a lot of people who enjoy doing [thing] but don’t enjoy all the shit that is [thing] adjacent. I love meeting friends for brunch on Sunday, but I don’t love waking up early, taking an hour+ ride to the city (both ways), waiting because the spot we went

If you want people to come to the same conclusions you have, maybe don't write an article that reluctantly praises the conclusion in the middle of lots of mocking derision when someone does it.

The tone here is SO odd. Maybe he said more in the actual podcast, but from what’s included in the article here, I don’t see where he said anything about him being worse off than anyone else or comparing his experience to others? He’s not putting down anyone or acting like what he’s saying is new or groundbreaking, so

Jesus, Emily. Did Tom Holland kill your dog or something? This feels like a disproportionate amount of venom thrown at him for a fairly banal opinion.

The writing on Jezebel is so bad and so shallow that it’s a shock when something is actually good: this is not that. There’s nothing wrong with a man avoiding a town he dislikes and basing his home elsewhere, or-uh-an English person wanting to live in England. But what can you expect of a woman who seems to believe

Yeah what an asshole Rodgers is for not saying BFF with Favre considering what a wonderful teammate Brett was in Green Bay.

Sure I can. He didn’t have to talk to the New York Times about his relationship with his super-star son at all, and this “I’m so glad it all came out” garbage while he continues to stir the pot is bogus too. Rodgers has made it clear he doesn’t want it talked about, and his family is continuing to talk to the press

The fact that we know any of this, and it isn’t coming from the “asshole” in question, makes me think that the family is the aggressor here

the woman literally emailed me right after the story went up to say “i’m glad you told that commenter to fuck off”
