Anecdote ahead:

Mom here is being a bit of an ass venting to a third party rather than writing an email to her daughter saying that she values their relationship but feels like she’s losing touch, understands Daughter is busy so would like to set up a regular time to talk so that she still feels included without interrupting busy

It’s disappointing not only because they faked being afraid of something in order to harass a child, but because they faked it so poorly that anyone with a basic grasp of logic can figure out they were faking.

No one in this situation believed it was a bomb, because no one initiated an evacuation. The teacher, principal, and police were willing to bet their lives that it was not a bomb — as evidenced by them moving the clock, leaving it in the office without a bomb tech securing it.

Where are our friendly, neighborhood Satanists? Aren’t they the ones who usually humorously defeat the small minded local twits trying to squash free expression of religion? Dang it, Satanists. We are counting on you!

Because small children are intrinsically creepy.

For celebrity children everywhere, how old do you have to be to legally change your name?

The premise that women are powerful only in the realm of controlling men through sex is a concept that ought to have stayed in ancient Greece.

Doxxing anyone isn’t appropriate for a journalist, regardless of whether they had some connection to a crime or not.

My father asked me which republican I would pick to be in the white house if I had to pick one. I think my brain actually blue-screened and reset.

Even if the cops were not showing blatent racism in evaluating threats, the root of the problem is the law that allows an officers memory of his feelings to be considered overriding evidence. I think it may be more difficult to purchase a gun in a way that triggers an effective

There has been an ongoing argument for an animal abusers list at a federal level. It tends to overlap with other violent crimes. The idea was that rescues could prevent adoptions to abusers and cops could watch for a pattern of abusive behavior.

Poor kids. I took ceramics in college and couldn’t get adult-ish stuff reliably. Expecting that from a ten year old, let alone a seven year old . . . I guess that just means that the parents have no respect for the art form.

As a former student of a slightly ridiculous number of art classes (in and out of school) I had quite a few teachers that couldn’t find the line between guiding and interfering. My husband quit taking art classes because of a teacher who insisted on thick black lines around objects in paintings — and added them to all

I don’t understand how that meshes with the common violence-apologists claim that if only some woman had agreed to sex then Jackass wouldn’t have had to rape-terrorize-shoot-blow up-join MRA etc.

If the expired card does really belong to the person using it then they’ve passed all the checks to be working, and there’s nothing mentioned in ICE documentation (that I could find anyway) about penalties for working with an expired card. It seems to be up to individual auditors and employers. The worry is people
