Because it isn’t much more than a unibody FWD Odyssey, regardless of when the rears kick in.
The argument wasn’t that it wouldn’t be “more capable”, but that it wouldn’t be MUCH more capable, especially given a full-send attitude.

Okay, so I wasn’t as clear as I wanted to be.
Trails/Fire roads/County Routes vary in their technical difficulty.
“This trail is ruts, mud, and some gravel until you get to the staircase.” Both vehicles turn around and go home. A “purpose-built” off-roader is going there just for the staircase.
Eh. I get it: Sell more for the outdoors adventure trope.
As an “...avid off-roader(s) <that owns> a more purpose-built off-road vehicle”, I can tell you that trails work until they don’t. Anything that this can do can also be done in a WRX, or, depending on the driver’s skill and willingness to go full-send, a Cavalier…
First... DavidHH, are you okay, man?
Secondly, am I the only one that REALLY wants to build the Lad’s Car?
Nissan fanboi here that actually likes the D21.
I am not convinced 8k is a good price....
Admittedly, I haven’t been through Delaware in probably a decade, but they were not nice in any fashion.
Now, I have seen “nice exits” that have great gas stations and places to eat, but not state-sponsored exits from the interstate that release back onto the same interstate, and nowhere else.
Tl;dr: I wish any of the nearby states even had that option.
This.
Got confused for a hot second, then remembered the website and their attention to detail.
I will double-down on the 4wd pick-up with a second bet of 200lbs of steel bumper and 40lbs of winch up front. It MAY help you get out of the ditch, if you find someone else (seeing as anchors for winches don’t usually exist in the road) willing to stop and be an anchor, but it will more likely pull them into the bank…
Came here to say this.
Also, I was a bit surprised to see that it was not mentioned in the article as a bit of bonus snark.
So, no sources?
“Monthly housing prices for many are not very high”
I would have to look for those surveys and studies, which sounds like work. Instead, I will trust anecdotal stories that have dubious provenance so that I can hate a company for which I don’t work. See? It all makes me feel good inside to get any validation that I am better than ‘BadManBezos’

No hate. If you don’t like ‘em, you don’t like ‘em. I don’t think Coach is anything other than a custom leather bag, so I get it.
Yes, there is misleading stuff related to “Full Self Driving.”
On an unrelated note, “America’s Best Warranty™” was just the name of the warranty. I’m certain there was no boost to sales from implied value of said warranty.....
My dad’s Buick Regal, no idea what year. The sad thing is the extremely different lenses through which we saw it...
Me: “Shit, dad, is there a road down there somewhere?”
Dad: “I know! The suspension is like you are on a cloud!”
Me: “No... that’s... not good. This steering wheel feels like I am giving the car optional…
“...largest percentage of American-sourced parts”
I don’t know the respective gearing of two trucks (actually, the X is probably 3.36), but I do know that the VQ40 was tuned for monstrous low rpm torque. I would imagine that is why the Taco felt slower; doing truck things at truck speeds, it shoved you back in the seat harder.
Hey, I was in some kind of mood this morning. It looks like I superimposed that mood over your message and took it to mean that you thought I was a gatekeeper.
I am sorry about that.
Here is the thing:
I would posit that it isn’t even as good as the Frontier. The Taco certainly costs more to maintain, hasn’t had a motor that excited anyone in living memory, and, for some reason, comes with the “Toyota Tax.”
It is just a bad truck.
